Started supporting Chelsea the year they finished 3rd in the league. How convenient
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone missed the bit about me never having heard of them!

You research also missed it was the year we won the League Cup as well!!

5 out of ten for effort but must do better!

Mind you I couldn't tell you if it was before or after that, that God smiled upon me!

But it wasn’t about the glory

Where did Villa and Brum finish that year?

You
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because as a 5 year old in 1964 my dad showed me a picture of the Chelsea Squad of the time, with players like Venables, Bridges, Harris, Bonetti, Cooke, McReadie and Boyle.

They could have been in the 4th division for all I knew but they were the 1st football team I'd ever heard of and I liked the name.

Once I'd made my choice, changing was never an option despite how bad we became!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was something about that chelsea kit that was so cool. I love the kit, but like most kids there was also the glory hunting moment of supporting them agst Leeds in the FA Cup final.

Brummies knows my story (my dad being a Villa fan) but hating Leeds and telling me that we wanted Chelsea to win.

It has been the case ever hence

Sorry Cal,

I don't know your age, but you might know anyway that any 70s Chelsea fan has a DNA imprint to hate Leeds with a passion

and its vice versa with 70s Leeds fans

And it would be great if Leeds could not feck it up this season so we can have that Chelsea Leeds rivalry back

The thing is Biggish, I literally didn't know anything about football whatsoever. I'd never even heard of Aston Villa despite them being a ten minute walk from where I was bought up.

If my dad had shown me a picture of Accrington Stanley that fateful day, my formative years my well have been spent making frequent trips into darkest Lancashire!

I guess it was just one of those random quirks of fate!

surely if this does actually happen city will lose 2 years worth of a lot of income, sponsors, CL money, extra shirt sales etc, and then they'll be even worse off for FFP on the wages they pay so they might have to sell top players just to make up more of a deficit?

i'll see where i'm watching it next week brummie and see if i can pop over after the game

The ban just means that City will win the domestic treble two seasons in a row now they dont have to play the CL matches.

You probably would have been title contenders without the transfer ban, but the transfer ban isn't the same as a CL ban though. You had like 60 young players out on loan that you actually had a reason to now use.

Barca and Real will be circling Man City's older players like vultures.

I think wed be stronger but the best case scenario would have been a distant 2nd to this Pool side

Our squad still needed another couple years of build

Considering the evidence was from a hacked emails produced by a convicted fraudster paid for by Bayern Munich, even the impartial may think City have a case worth fighting.

KDB will be in his prime and wanting to get his hands on the champions league, he's won pretty much everything else

Also who knows what action the PL will take with this blatant cheating

Surely if it was fake he would have chosen the best team no? And given he stuck with the club through the 80s I think any question of glory hunting disintegrates
