Took a bit of time to read up about Gregg a while back.
A prime example that not all superheroes run around with their pants on the outside of their trousers.
The guy is an absolute legend for what he did that night, brave, selfless and a true hero
RIP harry

When people talk about hero footballers Harry Gregg is up there as one of, if not the, most heroic.
RIP Harry
Sounds like he was a legend on and off the pitch. RIP Harry.
Great keeper and a great man too.................always put others before himself
RIP Harry
The man was a real hero
I’m sure united will pay him a fitting tribute

Maybe the greatest hero the game has ever seen.
Went back into a burning wreck to pull bodies out from between his dead friends, then later said:
“...if all I was ever part of, or all I ever achieved was to do with what happened in Germany, in Munich, if that was what my life was all about, it didn't come to very much."
Well, I’m sorry Harry, you were wrong there. A spectacularly brave and humble giant of a man.
An absolute Club legend and hero (in a World where such accolades are often thrown away on complete no marks). Why Mr Gregg hasn't received the full and appropriate, official recognition for his selfless bravery that day and his conduct since, is a national disgrace. RIP Harry.
I switched on the radio a few minutes ago to hear this very sad news and I am genuinely nearly in tears to hear this.
I can go back to the 60’s to follow the fortunes of Harry Gregg and his involvement in the air disaster before then. The television documentary made a good few years ago spoke volumes of the man and how it pieced together the events before and after that terrible day. It was the most moving programme I have ever seen and just proved what a hero and humble man Harry Gregg was. He didn’t want any fuss, any rewards or the like. The programme was a fitting tribute to the man and for those who had no idea what went on that day, a chance to see exactly what those people went through.
I always looked out for him during televised games at Old Trafford and then he went through all that personal heartbreak of losing his daughter did he not? She featured in the documentary if I recall correctly.
It matters not that he played for another team. As far as I’m concerned he is up there with all those concerned that I have loved and respected the most in football.
