Well, as I said yesterday in my article..
Martial... just... doesn't.... move.
And I am not convinced he knows that he should be.
He’s got a decent finish on him but he just doesn’t seem to have the natural instinct to attack the space to get onto balls, I’m not sure if he ever will either. Which is why he seems far more natural out wide where he’s best running at people. I don’t know if it’s simply his appearance but he doesn’t ever look like he wants to put the effort it and push himself to make him reach his potential.
He’ll probably end up at a mid table team or top half at another league where he’ll still do his mazy runs and nice finishes but never really reach the top level.
Think he's smash it in Italy.
His movement off the ball is an issue for us, which is frustrating as at times he looks brilliant up top.
He does seem to play much better when Rashford and Pogba play, I also think our midfield do fail to spot some of his good, but subtle runs at times.

He doesn’t get in the box when the ball’s out wide either, there have been loads of occasions when Shaw, for example, has the ball and is looking for someone to cross too and Martial is standing about three feet away from him.

They do as clearly shown in the article, just not as often as the top players which is the jist of the article and why he isn’t fulfilling his potential.

As evidenced in the heatmap analysis in the article, such contrast to Aguero and Vardy.
I'm hoping that having Ighalo in the team will be a great benefit to him.
The truth is we have quite a few players in our squad who are better than what they look at the moment and that what makes them look back is our collective failure to play as a cohesive unit.

Hasn't Ole tried showing him what a striker should be doing? Or is the lad thick? It's beyond baffling. Without Marcus - he's completely useless.
I still think Martial could be a top striker with quality around him.
He’s scored a decent amount of goals for a struggling side and is still young.
Get a top right winger and more creativity from the midfield and you’ll see a very good striker imo.

If your CF doesnt move then it doesnt matter how creative your midfield, is, its hard to score goals.

I wonder when somebody , anybody , is going to do a similar observation about Daniel James.
It seems all of our attacking players are getting criticized except for the one player who has been utterly disappointing for more than 4 months now
