Done. Was at a log cabin break when that article appeared.

Ok, Admin1, fair enough, but your comments seem a little contradictory. Either you're going to "disable the 1-star bandit", or you're not going to alter the old BBC rating system ... ?

Yeah, I appreciate the contradiction. The one star bandit stuff is just a pain in the rectumm especially when it is the MO of a user who contributes nothing else. I've banned folk for 1 starring articles for members who have passed away etc. I'm not working within a well defined set of rules, so I've no doubt made wrong calls on numerous occasions

Ok, understand, thanks for your consideration and good luck with all that! (but I still think removing anonymity from ratings would be a small step in the right direction)👍😁

It's also an anonymous forum which brings with it its own issues. If you seen who one starred you it could lead to all manner of fueds and grudges. No ideal solution. Such is the internet.

that's what i always imagined. just some bored halfwit who gets up every morning a one stars every article from the day before.
once in a while i'll 5 star something i really like but couldn't care enough to ever 1 star anything.

It's the 2 stars feckers that get to me.

It's like they are serious about the article.

I give stars for majority of articles based on my opinion of their quality. Surely that’s what the star rating is for?
If the article is poor it gets 1-star. If it’s great it gets 5-stars.

Which isnt what is being talked about. The issue admin has dealt with is someone who uses their account specifically to one star every article that gets posted/articles for opposition teams.

Can't you just give us a clue like leaving off the first letter of his name ?

We should at least get to know which one of Tuscany or Eric it is

- for that reason alone I'm with Cal then, looking forward to getting this monkey off my back

mind you, I'd rather be Tuscany than Eric, all day long.. at least he's not accused me of being 'Koppite'

Merely adding weight to the 2 recent discussions regarding the star system.
Articles like sol’s pre match bielsa news should never get 1-star because they are so informative. Imo likely a rival fan who just Dosnt like us feels the need to 1-star them. Same for the match day thread - gets loads of 5-stars and then one 1-star. Plenty of articles on here though that do deserve the 1-star tbf

Should go a thumbs up system, thumbs up if liked, nothing if not, it weeds out the folk who try and divide just like that.

Yes its not exactly how 606 was, but time to evolve gently if Admins have the appetite for it

It would also be an idea if Admin put a limit on the one star, you're allowed to use it so many times a week and after that you're frozen out, that way people don't get kicked of site and if they have something against what has been written they can say it on site!..

Take the star system away then you're deleting the voting system!..

Another idea - anybody with a history of lots of one-star ratings and not much else could find themselves with only the 5-star vote available for a year.

That would stop them in their tracks, but allow them to get into the habit of praising articles that deserve it.

You really want the site to weed out the users that divide, Mr Filter?

Can't see the issue. It won't change my opinions and I don't post to get a result. As I've said before, one star is better than none.....
