Do you think the China reports of it coming from the market are correct or do you lean towards it having escaped from the Wuhan infectious diseases place a few miles away?
To me it has to be from the infectious diseases place, it's far too convenient for it to have come into being just miles away from it.

1 in 100 is the death rate, i mean it's not ideal but you can hardly be schitting it with those odds.
I read earlier that a woman has caught it a second time after recovering which is a bit more ominous.

It's probably less than 1% as there will be more cases than those reported. Also as someoneelse said the death rate from flu isn't much less and they are probably quite similar.
Problem is unlike flu there is no vaccine available so all the vulnerable people that get one eg elderly, pregnant, conditions like MS aren't protected. Hence the fatalities

Just met a professor mate. Says the unis are all fckd. Glasgow been told their 2500 Chinese intake won't be allowed to travel. £37.5m of revenue at risk. Compounded by EU drop off as nobody knows what will be negotiated there? Replicated at every uni in the UK that could be £5bn at risk? Staff redundancies, student property, student spend etc. easily £15bn. That is just one sector.
In one sense, if it becomes a global pandemic then everyone just carries on as normal because you can't stop it. You just have to hope for the best and wait for the vaccine.

Used to frequently get brought 'rice whisky' by my oriental colleagues. Even the jakeys at my work wouldn't touch it. Rough as flook. Couldn't give it away. I suspect that is what they are spraying in the streets?
I've tried some of that rice whisky.. it's bogging!

They'd bring it in a duty free bag as well so we'd search how much they'd paid for it as we really thought it was industrial chemicals and unbelievably they were paying the same as for a decent malt
