I see rangers just knocked out the team that outplayed you twice in the group stage.

Can’t see you throwing a 4 goal lead away tonight.

The Spanish police feckin hate anyone enjoying themselves unless of course you are Spanish. In Mallorca it's even worse, the majority of Mallorcan (men) are downright racist and do anything they can to pizz off ex-pats. If you are Mallorcan you can literally get away with murder and the police will make an excuse for you. Outside of Arabic and African countries there is probably not a more corrupt police force than the Spanish.

Nuno says 4-0 lead doesn't mean anything? Surely it means we have a four goal advantage?

posted on 27/2/20

Of course we have a 4-0 lead but Nuno is adamant that they will go into this game a s a brand new game and not a second leg. As far as he and the players are concerned the game starts at 0-0 the same as every other game.

Cracking thread by the way

Well if he doesn't rest players then it shows he has zero faith in the squad. Perfect opportunity to give a few fringe guys a run out as we may be relying on a few of them as the season runs down.

the riot police in most countries is a world away from anything we have in the uk.
i have a friend who is a policeman in dortmund. he is normal city police who are great, very similar to uk police.
i was with him at dortmund (he was off duty) when the riot police came, he said they basically have free rein to batter anyone they feel like with no come back, that to not even make eye contact as they will see it as a challenge or threat and batter you.. they have no identifying numbers so its no use saying pc 854 lamped me for no reason.

Players want to play, it's as simple as that. Now if Nuno feels the need to be in a more defensive frame of mind, then I'm sure he'll go with a 3-5-2 formation. We'll maybe see a couple of changes, but I don't see a whole load, even though we have a 4-0 advantage.

Watched that video Wolgang and I don't see any riot police charging. It only takes one stupid drunken fan to throw something or shout abuse and that will create problems.

I guess one of the pitfalls of a tiny squad, you only have a few you have faith in from the bench. I personally am hoping we see four or five changes and we are looking at the bigger picture and not tonight's formality.

I once got hit with a baton by riot police in Portugal on a lads holiday.

Did you deserve it?

I wouldn't say so. I was quite drunk at the time though.

Me and my friends came out of a bar at the end of the night and there were loads of Portuguese singing football songs in the street. We joined in, making up English words to their songs (it was mainly White Stripes, Seven Nation Army based) and were well received by them.

Then this riot van turned up to disperse the crowd and they just got out and started hitting people. Me and one of my other friends were two of the unfortunates. I had bruised ribs from it.

The crowd dispersed pretty quickly though. We went on to swim in a pond in a park on the way back to the villa. When we walked past it the next day, we found out it had snapping turtles in it. Could have gone very wrong.

Espanyol need more goals tonight than premier league games Jota has scored in this season #cincifacts

posted on 27/2/20

Don’t think there is any need to play defensively today, and I don’t see 352 as a defensive formation. The objective for Wolves is surely to score a goal. If they do then Espanyol would need to score 6. Which I don’t think they will do

Good to see Podence get a game. And Kilman and MGW too

five changes, about right

Hopefully we'll see Campana today as well.

Another opportunity for MGW to show that he has what it takes, he has rarely taken his chances thus far.

Would have liked to have seen Ruddy in goal for this one though.

But all said and done Sunday is a much bigger game so naturally players were going to be rested for that one.

As expected Espanyol field a weakened side, eight changes from their league defeat sunday

Quite happy with the line up but do have to ask who is going to put the ball in the net from that lot. Doherty probably the most likely
