Harrison has been excellent the last few games. Almost feels like he is becoming our playmaker. Has tonnes of ability and also presses/defends well.
Best thing is, in amongst his frustrating moments, you can see the development in his game - which is important for a young lad.
The likes of Phillips, Harrison and fitness permitting, Roberts are the ones to build the team around for future years
Good review although I disagree re Klich and his comment/reaction re Bamford. Stupid predictable question about conversion rates from the journalist getting what I saw as an ironic response from a player on the spot.
You've made comments about Bamford being isolated from the group, slow to join in the celebrations etc.. I've watched more closely to see if there might be an issue, to be honest I don't see anything to support that.
He plays a vital part in Bielsa's system and there's genuine celebratory gestures from Bamford and he's most definitely part of the pack.
Good review nonetheless on the back of a really good performance. First half needed an improvement and boy did we see it!!
Stevie, I enjoy the game but also looking at all things. I’m used to looking fir it in squads, players who are isolated in some way as it’s important to
Integrate them back in, if I had £1 fur every time I’d seen it in a squad and talked to coach about it who hadn’t noticed and then told me all the issues they were having with that player I’d be a rich man.
I’m not trying to persuade anyone it’s just my observation, you can take it or leave it. If you choose to ridicule it it says more about you than me (not saying you have).
Same as it’s my observation that Bielsa does an awful lot of ear bending to 4th official for someone who can’t speak English
Great performance albeit against the worst side in the league
Not sure I have ridiculed it.... I've had a closer look because of the comments you've made before. Ensuring that the team stays as a team is fundamental in both of my working world's; one for success the other for safety.
I like Bamford, he's capable of more but whatever the conversion rate I think he's contributing effectively. My opinion and I'm equally capable of calling it wrong as Wakey is often keen to point out.
I respect your opinion and I'm simply venturing an alternative one.
3 good points is all that counts.

Didn’t say you did hence saying that. I checked in with someone connected with the club and he highlighted Klich last week showing frustration in lack of goals his exact words were “I felt Klich was close to saying FFS score Bamford last night!”
When players see an alternative that works better there will be peer pressure to take the better option.
Not saying Roberts is better option, but after match yesterday I’m sure there were some players preferring Roberts was up too.

What games are you watching exactly that you see Bamford is contributing effectively. Sorry, but just don’t get it. All these supporters up Bamfords a55, I guess you’ll all take him in the premiership then if we go up?? Just find it astonishing the defence for Bamford - it’s getting embarrassing and ridiculous.
Said many times before hope he scores a few to end his leeds career on a high.... but give the whole he fits in blah blah a rest please. Please.
Roberts is a different player to Bamford. I'd be surprised to see him selected ahead of Bamford. He did well and took his chances yesterday.

You're entitled to your opinion as indeed I am to mine. I'm hardly up his ar5e as you delicately put it.
If you think his role is simply to score goals then you're right. I think he has a wider responsibility and in many respects he fulfils that.
A forum for debate isn't it and one where different opinions should be welcomed.

I agree, but do you think players afterwards are all thinking "Well done Tyler, but we hope Patrick's starting ahead of you next match?
Sorry mate didn’t mean to offend. Would love to see/hear the logic of why Bamford is in the team at the moment. Agree he covers a lot of ground at the moment, but his confidence and shooting are awol.
That header was from Roberts was class... That to Bamford wouldn’t even qualify as a half chance.
A question to all those that want Bamford and see him contributing effectively - would you be happy with him in the team in premiership playing a similar role?
I think they recognise PBs contribution to the overall effort. Roberts off the bench where Hull City is largely on the back foot is a different proposition to Roberts starting the match at 0-0.
If they are thinking TR should start what about their own positions when they go through a difficult patch?
It's a team effort and I genuinely believe it's a tight knit squad.
Of course, I might well be wrong........

Difficult one to answer. I'm not sure who, across the whole squad, will be retained for the Premier League if we actually get there. Bamford can play better of that I am sure but he's putting himself about despite the confidence levels.
Roberts is injury prone. Do you risk him playing 90 minutes or utilise him as an impact substitution. His headed goal was reminiscent of Roofe's against Derby County last season. Brilliant goal. However, could he rough up the opposition like Bamford does?
Given it was Roberts first run out for a while I’d be surprised if he started the next game but would like to see him come on for longer with a view to starting. For Bamfords in sanity and confidence - gotta take him out of the firing line. Although not his fault we only had one fit striker for most of the season.

Every player is worried about their own position when going through a bad patch, unless that player knows there are no alternatives.
It's not just a bad patch it's the second protracted barren spell of matches in less than a season.
Players don't want others in side who might cost them, its natural behaviour for competitors.
I too think its a tight knit squad, just that Bamford is not at centre of it and that others are getting tired of it.
At least we have an option there as long as Roberts stays fit, as I don't think we'll see Augustin start a match for us this season at all.
Think we've got to keep it simple - the system yesterday which includes Bamford worked a dream, the substitution timing and impact worked a dream.
To me the key was the midfield yesterday played to its potential, yes I only saw extended highlights but what I did see was great to behold. Pablo, Klich and Harrison were all at the races at the same time and when they have confidence in the DM and backline it really helps.
I just hope we keep the sillies, including stupid yellows and red cards at bay.
Yes PB is frustrating but he is part of the whole that's got us where we are.
....and the manager, although a humble character by nature, must have been very proud of his team yesterday.
Think we've got to keep it simple - the system yesterday which includes Bamford worked a dream, the substitution timing and impact worked a dream.

Thought we were awful in the first half...
We weren't at the races first half but we were 1-0 up, should have scored more and we'd not embraced a change in system half way through it.
Bielsa's "pep talk" at half time (see what I did there?????) worked wonders and we were better marshalled second half with a more productive midfield.
I think the team mirrored Meslier and got significantly better and more cavalier. Sustaining that over 90 minutes is hard.

I actually think Roberts is as good as a lone striker as Bamford. His two goals were that of someone who looked like they’d been banging them in all season.
Matty Klich hasn't missed a game for us for nearly two seasons, played the last 14 games for Utrecht in season 2017/18 and travels regularly with the Poland squad. What an engine.
Seriously can’t believe another thread has just changed into another Roberts for Bamford one
It’s like literally only a few days ago that the majority on here were saying we can’t rely on glass legs Roberts
It’s like literally only a month ago majority on here were saying we needed a new striker because Roberts is a no10 not a no9.
Starting to feel like there is an Alzheimer’s virus going around here.
