Thought he was finished but he’s been good lately. Wouldn’t be against extending his deal now.

We started the second half OK despite them upping the tempo, but when Ancelotti brought Bernard on and let him play inside it killed the time on the ball for our midfielders.
I think Ole thought going 4-2-3-1 that Martial and Mata would find space wide and could isolate their fullbacks, but Sidibe and Baines were very good.

It got worse when McTominay was hooked and the shape changed but Everton were already getting on top by that point.
If Matic's form continues then I wouldn't have a problem keeping him for another season because there's no other midfielder like him in the squad in terms of positioning. I'd still bring in a younger more mobile replacement in the summer but if he's happy with a squad role, there's no harm in hanging onto him for a while longer.
I really thought Everton would make one of their corners count eventually but Maguire was first to nearly every one of them and he made a number of other good interventions this afternoon as well. His best game for us so far I think.

Tbf just replacing Walcott Atleast evened up the numbers today lol he was woeful
In a strange way it's kind of refreshing that we're disappointed after playing well in the first half and getting a decent point. If we can stay within 3 points of 4th after our next two games then it's very much game in IMO.

You'd think that. But almost invariably, when we have an opportunity to close the gap, we fail to take it. I was happy with a draw today, but it's a recurring theme that if Chelsea don't win, neither do we (aside from when we play them).
Watch out for Wolves by the way. They have a very kind run in. And they tend to take advantage of opportunities
Liked the way Matic got himself to the front of that fracas in the first half and grabbed hold of their player.
Having bodies in midfield helped us for a while today but I can’t see all four of those starting many games together.
Past his best but he shows what is needed in that role that no other can in this current squad. A replacement for him and a RW are a priority for me this summer.

First ten minutes were OK. I thought they’d tire a bit, but the difference was Ancelotti’s switch.
4-2-3-1 just didn’t work for us when they had the extra man in the centre of the park.
We just didn’t hit the right passes early enough and let Mata get dragged into the midfield battle when we should’ve been trying to stretch the game.
