Docherty just doing exactly what he did from his loan spell at Shrewsbury.....came back from that and had 6 months to impress Gerrard and obviously hasn't. A few good performances for Hibs not going to change much surely?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not saying he’s the answer, neither him or Ferguson are. We need experience

Ferguson isn’t the answer either.
Rangers need someone who can dictate games for 90 minutes in the middle of the park. Davis was brilliant at it but he really does look finished.
Tavs done for me. Get rid to whoever will take him.
Likewise Goldson. Bring in a big horrible bastirt of a centre back to play alongside Helander.
Central midfield needs an entire revamp. Wouldn't be upset to see us get rid of the lot (I know we won't though)

There’s an element in the OP of a Scotland fan happy for the same guys to continue getting caps even though they haven’t done anything of note for various campaigns.
Rangers are now without a major trophy in almost 10 years, the gig should be up for guys like Tavernier.

Goldson is our best centre back. Closest thing to a leader we have. Other than Katic messing up the other werk, our issue hasn’t been the centre backs. It’s the midfield and front players.
Even Tav, he’s not been a reason for us dropping points. We drop more without him.
Falls with manager for his tactics and the players in front of the defence. Our defence has held up pretty much as well as Celtic’s has. So no sense to pick up those two
Docherty I would sell in the summer to an English club that sees him do well at Shrewsbury and Hibs. He's good but he's not good enough.
Murphy is doing well at Burton but another I'd let go to an English team if a bid comes in. Otherwise he can try again to win his place in pre season.
Halliday and Flanagan should be released. Ojo sent back to Liverpool and try shift Barker and Jones if there is interest.
I think Morelos will be only player that has been a starter that gets sold. Tavernier, Goldson Kamara I expect to be back.
Overall I think it'll be a couple signings but nothing gigantic.

I think it's a bit pie in the sky to think Morelos will be sold for around £20m, I honestly think you'll be lucky to get £10m for him, he's good at what he does but he is one dimensional and too slow to make it at a top club, that's without even getting into his behavioural issues.
I heard there's rumours of £17m move to Italy for Barasic too which I find hilarious, guys been at rangers 2 years and played well for about 4 months of it.
Would it even be a good idea to sell off your best players in an attempt fund a push to stop 10 next season, might make you stronger in the long run but can you really afford to gel together half a team of new players?

For me unfortunately we do need a bit of an overhaul;
- Ross McCrorie isnt a RB. If we kept him it would essentially be for special occasions - that extra holding midfield player shielding the back four in tougher games. Up to him if he fancies that gig. We would have benefitted from having him this season IMO.
- Hastie isn't good enough and never will. Fair play to the lad because he works really hard but just doesn't have the quality from what I have seen playing with the development team recently.
- Polster, Barker, Ojo not good enough
- Jones - he has admirers in the championship and could easily go around the £1m as a full international.
- Barisic will go. He knows this summer is his big chance for a big move with the Euros on. On his day he is top half of the EPL quality. We probably wont get mega money for him. Id rate him around the £10m as he has been really consistent. In reality I expect nearer £7m.
- Defoe, Davis and even to some extent McGregor have looked off it last few months. Looked their age tbh. Wouldn't be fussed if they went tbh
- Stewart - pointless signing. Can go.
- Kamara - too hot an cold. Should be an easy sell to an English championship/lower EPL team if he has a decent euros. £3-4m IMO.
- Morelos - time to get him tae fook. £15m tops unless he has a blistering end to the season.

Maybe something happened, but I doubt it, in the aftermath of our loss at new year I said it would be interesting to see how Rangers dealt with being on top(not technically because of the game in hand), it's one thing to be the under dog chasing the dominant team, but the pressure ramps up when the expectations shift and you become the favourites.
I think ultimately that's been the major difference, the Rangers players couldn't handle the pressure, it also explains why when playing in europe as underdogs your players seem to perform at a higher standard.
