if anyone wants to bother watching this back, watch lallana and Jones compared to milner.
our issue here is we left two cbs all night to try play the ball and all Chelsea did was push two up.
lallana at one point dropped back then ran this loops lazy run away with back to gomez jogging up the park when gomez needed an option.
milner sat in and tried at least to pass the ball forward.
Jones could not decide if he was left winger or left cm.
that's the difference.
all 3 of our cms were far too far forward too early, we played the ball too quickly forward and made it easy, just like watford.
it's clear to me that you just want to control things better than that. it's too rushed and running two far forward.
you cannot leave vvd and gomez with o options but a 40 yard pass. its ridiculous.
I thought was one minute I had ventured onto the Spurs board in error....
What was the point of playing VVD, Robertson etc when he made 6 changes? What was Klopp thinking of? Either play the full team or play the kids - away to Chelsea who was playing their first team. This was an unbelievable decision from the manager. On top of that, he brings on Milner who has not played for weeks!!
Huge amount of time for Klopp, but the buck stops with him tonight. If you only start 5 of your best XI, don’t expect to win games like tonight. Bizarre ... you surely have umpteen meaningless league games coming up to give the kids/reserves game time?

Agree with that but think Hendo would have changed it by telling them what to do , he never stops talking
OR ... at least play Allison in goal. He’d have saved the 2 goals for starters, which went right through Adrian.

This is what I don’t understand, playing away to Chelsea and making six changes? What was he thinking? This is not some poxy league 1 team - this is a team that is fourth in the league, playing at home and who have always been a thorn for us.

We're not going to blow the lead ffs. We can literally go 2 wins, 4 draws, 4 losses and still win the title
Chelsea and Watford defences have been weak this year and yet we couldn't score and not even creating enough chances. Big worry against a solid Atletico defence

You have to be seriously slow to get outpaced by Barclay but Gomez did not cover himself in glory either.
Not too long ago I said that Jurgen doesn't take domestic cups seriously. I got shot down in flames, although it wasn't a major criticism as he certainly takes the CL and title seriously.
But I stand by what I said.

klopp has clearly said the fa cup was 3rd choice.
no alisson
no taa
no salah
no firmino
he started adrian and William's so no issues for me there
but he put in lallana and Jones and that unbalanced.midfield
minamino played for 10 mins max
origi continued to stink up the place.
the game to rest in was Bournemouth to this one.
but hey.... it's done so we at least didn't see lovren v giroud all night.
