I don’t see 352 as a defensive set up. We have used it successfully in many games, most recently when we easily put Norwich away 3-0. Just that we played poorly today. Distribution from defence was poor, Coady apart, Vinagre wasted many opportunities to attack from the left wing, Moutinho played many misplaced passes as he did last week at Spurs, and Jimenez hasn’t played well for a few weeks now.

Brighton keep possession well but don’t think they would have scored if they were still playing now. Bissouma typified them really. Had a good game in midfield but in the final third his passing and shooting was poor. Have felt for a few weeks that Norwich, Villa and Brighton will go down and saw nothing today to change my mind.

3-5-2 doesn't have to be negative but no doubt today we set out nullify Brighton first and foremost. At home to a side like that is crying out for 3-4-3

Very disappointed we did not take it to them, took a seat in the Billy Quiet courtesy of a friend, good view to be fair, hopefully Jonny will be back on Thursday and my trip to Athens goes to plan

Olympiacos don’t play their weekend game until tomorrow evening. They are top of the Greek league and their game on Sunday is away to the team second so no easy prep for them

Traore is averaging 5 successful dribbles a game in the Premier League this season, more than any other player. He maintained his average today with 5 more dribbles despite being on the field for only 26 minutes

I know halfy loves a bit of c&p, here's a bit from the bbc which kinda sums up the game:

Despite coming on in the 64th minute, Adama Traore completed more dribbles than any other player (five).

Brighton owner Tony Bloom is incredibly short, saw him on the platform, remember watching him play poker on tv, he has done well for his club with a very decent stadium too

started with 3-5-2 11 times this season in the league and won twice.

Also the games we lost to Braga and Espanyol we started 3-5-2.

The "day the music died" was when we got thumped at home by Chelsea. Nuno completely changed his priorities after that defeat. Compete first, win second.

He's still a goal keeper at heart, doesn't like conceding. 🐝

It doesn't have to be negative, but it is 90% of the time we play it.

This forum doesn’t have to be negative but 90% of the time it is. I remember many saying in the summer they would be happy if we finished top half this season and had a run in Europe. So pleased to feel the happiness

No surprise at the way Brighton played yesterday. The kind of football that gains plaudits from statisticians but bores the pants off people watching. They are 4th in the prem in terms of possession time but very ineffective as an attacking team. Wolves are mid table for possession but the 6th highest scorers so I don’t think I would consider Wolves a defensive team at all. And the vast majority of people that watch them, Wolves and non Wolves fans, consider them a good team to watch I believe. I certainly love watching them, and love looking at the league table. The negativity on forums, largely from people who have never seen a better Wolves team in their lifetime, I find quite bizarre

I think it's only natural for people to express a bit of frustration when thre team hasn't played as well as we know it can, however in context this has been another wonderful season with expectations exceeded. At the end I'm sure we'll all look back with pride at what our team had achieved.

Biggest negative I would have about yesterday, more so than the result or formation, would be a number of our most reliable players were below par. Jimenez hasn’t played well for a few games now, Moutinho’s passing was off last week and this, and Boly and Saiss weren’t as good yesterday despite playing against a powder puff attack. Just signs the last couple of games that Boly isn’t as comfortable on the right.

Didn’t expect Traore to start yesterday with his shoulder problems but I would rather have seen Neto than Dendoncker as replacement. And it was surprising that Neves and Jota were substituted as I thought they were our best two players on the day.

It is good we have a stronger bench nowadays though and it gives us the chance to make significant changes when things aren’t going well and both Traore and Podence played their part in opening Brighton up late on but we didn’t take our chances

5th in the Prem and a great run in Europe, whats not to be ecstatic about.
Sadly , the 'what could have been' is why people are frustrated with 13 draws, we know that if 4 of those had been won, we would be 3rd. By being slightly more adventurous we could have won seven of those games and even if we lost the other six we would still be 8 points better off.
All 'if and buts', but that is the frustration.,

I am sure every team in the country has some what if stories. We have drawn some games we might have won, we have drawn some games and won some games that in previous seasons we would probably have lost.

Prefer to focus on what we have achieved rather than think about what would have happened if we had done better and every other team stuck with what they have

I did start with 'What's not to be ecstatic about'

Nobody knows how this season ends as yet and setting out what will make us happy at the start of the season is meaningless in reality. Target reached early so may as well lose the last five let's say would be ok by that standard which would be daft.

It's a week to week thing, we should be beating Brighton and set up poorly and blew a great opportunity. Will it matter after game 38? Maybe not, but if we miss out on the CL by one point then it will matter in a big way along with the many other games we showed little attacking intent in.

To suggest we are not a defensive side first and foremost is ridiculous, Nuno is a relatively defensive coach, we have known that since he arrived.

Also surprises me that some fans still have the 'we were crap three years ago so anything is a bonus' mentality still and if you don't rejoice at our standing every week you are not a real fan. We are no longer that Wolves, we have ambitions to challenge at the top, and performances like yesterday set us back.

Obvs Halfy is not only a legend but a sensible headed supporter of the club, but please could you’d let me know what qualifies you’s to question what Nuno decides ?

Just trying to figure out why only Cinci has managed to pull on the old gold shirt ?
