I'm still not convinced by AWB, certainly not a bad player just not sure if he'll ever be a very good player.
Still young though so plenty time to change that.

He's a good player and likely to improve but he's certainly not the best right back in the league. He has a long way to go before he's in that discussion. The main thing he has done this season is prove he can perform at a big club and deal with the pressure. Has made some errors defensively, he was very poor against Liverpool, for example but overall he has been good. Offensively, it just isn't there but then he doesn't often have a lot to aim at, as United's attacks are mostly counters with one or two players in the box when he gets it.

Shockingly bad then.
Defensively he still has a few flaws too, as good as last ditch recovery tackles look you have to question why hes relying on them so much and he'll get caught out again. Still young and he will learn but theres stuff to work on defensively. I like how hes straight over to the opponent and gets tight right away pretty much forcing them to do something. Offensively hes ok just needs to focus and work on it a bit more, nothing good coaching cant help him with.
Hes a talent, was at Palace, still is, doesnt feel like hes improved but at the same time he looked a talent at Palace and had a good season for them. 50m doesnt look like a bargain to me yet though, its a lot of money for a fullback. I'd have him over Walker though he cost 50m too.

As I've seen him really struggle on the ball in numerous games. Yes, he's put in a couple of good balls but that's the difference between the best right back in the league and one who shouldn't be in the discussion. The best right back in the league puts in numerous good balls.
So that makes him the best right back in the league? But trent, who plays for a team who have conceded less is a worse defender?

Some terrible analysis there.
How can you say with certainty that offensively it isn't there and then say he has nothing to aim at?
Fact is that he's put in some absolute pearlers and whilst it'll be an area for him to improve, he's clearly got it in his locker. He looks like a player who is a defender first, which is perfectly reasonable.

Defensively he still has a few flaws too, as good as last ditch recovery tackles look you have to question why hes relying on them so much and he'll get caught out again. Still young and he will learn but theres stuff to work on defensively. I like how hes straight over to the opponent and gets tight right away pretty much forcing them to do something. Offensively hes ok just needs to focus and work on it a bit more, nothing good coaching cant help him with.
Hes a talent, was at Palace, still is, doesnt feel like hes improved but at the same time he looked a talent at Palace and had a good season for them. 50m doesnt look like a bargain to me yet though, its a lot of money for a fullback. I'd have him over Walker though he cost 50m too.

As I've seen him really struggle on the ball in numerous games. Yes, he's put in a couple of good balls but that's the difference between the best right back in the league and one who shouldn't be in the discussion. The best right back in the league puts in numerous good balls.
