THE WHOLE SEASON COULD BE NULL AND VOID

it can't possibly happen. The lawsuits would be flying about if Leeds for example were denied promotion at this point.

It might be crap but these games can absolutely go ahead a few weeks from now if players/teams are isolated and tested now.

China has been fighting this thing since December, their football league postponed with no signs of starting it.

is there really a thought that we could start the Prem in another couple of weeks?

Season is done.

I think a sensible solution would be to sacrifice next season to finish this season and the euros. It would also help align the following season with the Qatar World Cup as you would potentially have the space to start earlier.

One of the issues is that no one knows if you can catch this virus twice - so starting after a few weeks quarantine isn’t a starter IMO

why not, if they are all virus free who are they gonna catch it off if they remain quarentined throughout the game period

There's only 9 games left. Either just hold on until early May to finish the season or just suspend it until May and play the rest of the games then.

You can't have a null/void campaign.

Probably still too soon to know for sure what the best options are.

My work are expecting and planning the impact of this to last until August, maybe longer, if that is any guide at all

posted on 13/3/20

Just use expected goals to finish off the season and allocate points.

What they should probably do is use form over, say the last five games, and then use that to calculate who would have won which games and then get the league table from there. Seems fair enough to me.

That would never be allowed or accepted

And it’s also coming from someone whose team has recently hit a bit of form over the past half dozen games

That's entirely coincidental how dare you imply anything like that in my perfectly good idea

I’ve a better idea - why don’t the EFL just take the result and performance of games played on 8th Feb, and base the whole season on the results and performance of that 1 day

Seems very logistical and reasonable to me

If you want larger sample size they could just use form over the last 35 games to decide who deserves to go up

Yep, to be fair, that would seem the perfect and honest thing to do

Well this business is expected to last about 14 weeks which takes us until the end of june (which coincides with contracts ending)

Have a three month transfer window.
Restart EFL mid-july and play reamaining 9 games. Finish end of august.

start 20/21 season late September.
No Carabao Cup next season freeing up some extra dates for EFL games.
League finishes late May.

Appies to EFL only - probably needs a bit of tweaking.

Well I suppose any delay will give us time to get Silva and Sow totally fit again 👍🏼

Have to say, would be amusing if all this meant Liverpool didn’t win the league after All 😂😂😂

Whilst it would be amusing on a level, it would also be absolutely scandalous

I don’t think the season will be cancelled. The peak is expected to tail off in the summer and the Euros will be cancelled hopefully allowing time for the season to be finished with the start of next season delayed.

I think it’s more important to finish this season than starting the next one

Yes but the only thing their fans would enjoy more than winning the title would be to be the victims of some perceived injustice

Embarrassed for you old man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Might not be true of every fan, but it is a fair reflection on the general perception on Liverpool’s fans!

Nothing to be embarrassed about

Years of moaning about referees and the premier league while Man U caught their league title record have created this and they only have themselves to blame

Yeah, cos that's where the stereotype comes from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stereotype? You are kidding aren’t you

It’s built into the Scouse’s DNA to moan, and complain, and play the victim - all we ever hear from you lot is ‘how hard done by’ you are, and it’s ‘never your fault’

Some of the most whinging human beings ever to set foot in the planet
