‘There’s only been 20 deaths’ ‘flu kills more’

Sigh, the real danger to society is the idiots who think it’s all media hype and aren’t scared enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem is compounded by muppet panic buyers. Idiots that overreact.

It's ok Sandy, Matt Hancock has said that will isolate the over 70s 'within weeks'.

I mean, they could start self isolating our most vulnerable groups now, but obviously there is a chance they won't catch it first if they do that.

Ffs get a grip sandy

They said the same about sars. The only difference is back then you got up, watched the news, then went about your day.

Now you get up watch the news and your phone/tablet/watch goes off every other minute with another update causing mass hysteria.

Yes there will be disruption, but to say the world will stop for two years and take even longer to get back to normal is utter nonesense for which you have no way of backing up. It’s talk like that which is causing people with genuine need to not be able to get the supplies they are desperate for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Completely agree. People are turning into raving lunatics over this thing. Like I said above, with the right measures in place, this will be eradicated quickly. The summer heat will kill off this virus to. It can’t live in a certain temperature. People are going way OTT, the world is not ending. It’s a big problem, but it will get sorted out. People need to get a bloody grip. Them and the media are making this a lot worse than what it actually is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no evidence to suggest summer heat will kill the virus
The virus is present and is killing people in countries with hot climates already
The Stanford Report which was circulating last week suggesting it cannot survive above 27 degrees has been outed as complete fabrication
The WHO are still stressing the need to clean hands frequently and thoroughly
People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.

WHO advises people of all ages to take steps to protect themselves from the virus, for example by following good hand hygiene and good respiratory hygiene.

Source: WHO Website

We need to strike a balance between the 2 extremes of panic/hysteria and utter complacency

There are only 25 new cases reported in China this morning
Their measures appear to have flattened the curve, so I think there's an extremely good chance we'll come out of this a lot quicker than some doom-mongers are predicting, certainly nowhere near a 2 year lockdown ffs.

It’s also typical of the media, to spout on about these deaths and over analyse each case - who they were what they did, where they come from, what clothes they were wearing, what they did at Christmas, what car they drove, what colour eyes they had, how many children they had, and what football team they supported.....and then they quietly tag on to the end....they had underlying health issues

Nothing to do with the fact that they were 103 years old and they had pancreatic cancer for the last 50 years and were given two weeks to live in 1970 - absolute pathetic overreaction

When you look at the figure in perspective it’s in the 0.0002%

20 deaths out of over 60,000,000 - yeah, get a bloody grip

I Know mate. Even the cases are so small compared to the population. 1000 cases in a country of a population of 65 million utterly ridiculous. It’s not even touching the surface. Get a grip folks, the world is not ending and this will be combated

Stop the facking hysteria. If you're vulnerable, as with ANY infectious illness you should take precautions. The rest of us need to calm down, and go about our lives ffs.

A few weeks ago I have to admit I was rather blase about this. However, as time passes I feel more and more uneasy about it.

The chances are that I will be OK but Mrs DC does have underlying medical conditions which means she is in the vulnarable category. I'm lucky that my job is as safe as any job I could have but some people won't be as lucky. Think I'll be working from home soon which isn't ideal but makes sense. Much better than working in a building with around 500 people as well as members of the public.

Stay safe everyone. Hopefully we'll be here soon arguing about Ole, Poch, Jose, Scholes v Gerrard etc.

SARS, Ebola etc , were all still terrible diseases which killed a lot of people world wide. Flu kills people world wide every year. Ebola was awful in Africa. I think
We really need to get a bloody grip here, follow the guidelines and this will be tackled very soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

SARS killed fewer than 800 people. In Italy alone, well over 1,000 have died from COVID-19. Yes, "only" 21 have died in the UK at present. But the day before it was 10. If it's 40 today, what's the prediction for tomorrow?

Summer heat kills off any virus mate, it’s a fact. What’s so special about coronavirus that it won’t be killed off ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are joking right?

Right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would I be joking you f*** buffoonit’s a well
Known fact that viruses thrive in cold weather, this is a fact. When the temperature heats up, the virus is nowhere near as severe and the cases will start to drop.

Swine flu cases kept going up through summer 2009 in the UK.
