Been confirmed now that the euros will happen in 2021 not 2020

Makes sense. Lets hope that this frees up some time to allow league fixtures to be played, though predictions of escalation are not encouraging on that front.

How's working from home working out for everyone then? No hassle for me I've been doing it for years but must be a novel experience for many.

Disagree with that scarf.

Teams have earned whatever position they are currently in and the only fair approach is to finish this season off. Not reasonable to pretend the last 7 months haven't happened and wipe the slate clean

I agree on a purely sporting level, but Football is much more than a sport, sadly it has become much more of a business; a TV show; and a Soap Opera

Suppose Aston Villa have agreed to sell their three best players in May, added to that they have 6 players out of contract in July, then they return to play Norwich who have signed Messi, Ronaldo and Aguero in the meantime?
I know, reducto ad nauseam, guilty as charged.

There are too many variables to keep even a semblance of fairness in restarting many months from now.

Not to mention the prospect of Managers, Coaches Officials & Staff deaths...

Seems the Premier League, EFL and Uefa all have meetings this week to decide what to do. I really hope they make no decisions at all because until we know when football can be resumed they are just second guessing on what's best. All they could probably do is rule out an early April restart and make the suspension open ended

It occurs to me that the best off here are retired couples like me and Mrs Gem. We have a regular fixed income, no debts, no mortgage or rent to pay and we live across the road from a supermarket.
To make it better for us our island is now closed to the outside world and I anticipate an announcement that there are no new reported cases of Covid-19 here within 3-4 weeks.
Please don't think I'm gloating though, I have friends and family in the UK, Norway, New Zealand, Australia and France and of course all of you guys too.
We are ok but I don't want to hear that any of you have been diagnosed.

The monetary system is reliant on infinite growth in a world of finite resources, and as such it was bound to fail at some point.

That point has arrived. What we are about to witness is the collapse of Industrial Civilisation and the global financial system.

Your "regular fixed income"?

I'm going to start working from home full time tomorrow, I have done bits and pieces at home before but I struggle with productivity as it's so easy to get distracted. Any tips?

UEFA have changed the date of the Europa. league final in Gdańsk to June 24th.

Wolves have 5 more matches to play before the final. Be great to think thats an achievable timescale but looks impossible to me given where we are in controlling coronavirus

Make sure you prep as you would if you were travelling in to work, dont slob around in your PJs all day ! Not suggesting you go the full suit & tie obviously.

Oh and stay off porrn hub if you can

There's some merit on setting up a routine and sticking to it. Start time, morning break time, lunch time, afternoon break time, finish time. And having a daily work plan, and agreeing call times with people you need to speak to.

All these things especially important if you intend to spend most of your day in the pub.

There is a teleconference today involving all Premier League clubs to take a view on the 19/20 season following the decision to postpone the euros to 2021.

They will doubtless confirm that football will not resume on the first weekend of April but not sure what other decision they can take given the uncertainty of how long the virus is going to stop football happening

The idea that The Premier League will make a decision based in fairness, or sporting integrity is fanciful nonsense.

Sky and BT Sport will decide.

If they hit The Premier League with financial penalties should they not complete the season, which not only they can, but the penalties are mind boggling, then if they have to compete in Hazmats the Clubs will vote to carry on.

If however Sky & BT look at it pragmatically, then 16 Clubs will vote to end it now, void it and prepare for the future 8n a calmer more measured and organized way; something all businesses want and need...

PL now suspended until 30th April.

More realistic, but lets see.

Pleased about the decision to suspend indefinitely. That means the objective is to finish it whenever they are able to. I think the chances of the games restarting at the end of April are close to zero, but whether they start in June, August, whenever, I think the priority has to be to finish this season, then decide what to do about next season after that has happened.

I don’t feel bad towards Steve Morgan. He had two main problems to me. Firstly in the modern game an owner needs to be a billionaire not a millionaire to make an impact at the top level. Secondly I always thought he stuck by Moxey too long

I agree with Moxey part but for Morgan's biggest problem was that he never really bought into Wolverhampton as a community and in his mind Wolves was always second choice. His Morgan Foundation is a wonderful thing but it's telling that it was set up in his beloved Liverpool. A massive contrast to the way Fosun have bought into the local community and show 100% commitment to the club.
