My sister went in to a shop the other day and found they'd sold out of milk because of panic buying.

Stockpiling milk ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Regular fresh milk or the long life stuff?

Ridiculous if the former.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i got 2 small cartons of the long life stuff, not exactly stockpiling. I got super noodles n pasta too but i actually eat that stuff on a weekly basis anyway and no more than a bag full of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surprised you've managed to get pasta. Not a feckin tortellini in sight in my town.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i got it from town from those small shops like herons or fultons tbf. Asda was bare for that stuff here too.

Just thick waaankers

This.

What’s worse is that to keep up and actually get some it encourages more panic buying just to actually ensure you have some. Facking morons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah this is a point to be fair. The panic buying rubs off on sensible people who start worrying they won’t be able to get any if they don’t get it now, which makes it worse. It’s not as if the supermarkets are going to close.

I went to a small co-op before and they had well more stuff than Tesco, Mozza's, Asda and Aldi. Those places have been decimated.

In Star Wars, did Chewbacca wipe his *rse after going to the toilet, or did he just let all the sh*t stick to his fur so it became all matted?

Takes one video where 2 fat ladies fight to go viral and then it creates mass panic.

A supermarket could close fairly quickly tbh... It'll only take one member of staff to go sick and everyone they've worked with are isolated... Things could spiral quickly at a local level

You should make a video of 2 fat ladies fighting over you then.

The whole panic buying thing is another example of the huge majority of idiots in this country, if people just behave considerately of others and buy their usual amounts or even just a little more then everyone is fine, this 'clear the shelf' mentality has to stop. Supermarkets should be forced to ration sales of items that are being hoarded.

Regarding milk, when for example I've known I would be returning from a holiday in the small hours I've often frozen a plastic carton before leaving so I would have fresh milk for tea/coffee before I can get to the shops the next day so people could well be freezing cartons too, although it's questionable whether they would even have the brain to realise that.

I don’t drink milk of any kind so couldn’t care less if there’s a shortage, just won’t effect me. But toilet roll etc, being panic bought (stupidly) certainly will.

4 packs of 9 rolls

And more tinned food than any supermarket on earth

I’m ready 🎸

36 rolls is plenty for one or two people providing you don't have chronic diarrhoea

A lot of this must be driven by women, as they use more toilet roll than men.
