Loads of rumours as to who is next:

Sol Campbell - unhappy at Southend - and worked with Tobias Phoenix.

Dean Holden - Assistant at Bristol City and former player

David Lee - promotion from within and hasn't really got a role anymore.

Kevin Nolan - The other choice last time round but now at West Ham and would maybe stay there.

Gary Bowyer - Ex Blackburn and Blackpool did well last time he managed in League 2 currently unemployed.

There is a probability that it's going to be a young up-coming coach who can fit into the DofF - head coach thing.

There was an obvious change in direction part way through the season. Football ventures took over, no obvious football experience among them. Needed someone quick as 2 days left of the transfer window. Employ hill who is used to running a club top bottom. Football ventures get their feet under the table, get advice from Peter Kenyon and employ a director of football tobias Phoenix. At that stage and Bolton looking doomed hills days were numbered. Explains some of his rants and sulking towards the end. Looks like Phoenix is running the show and a head coach rather than traditional manager will be appointed.

We might see a new type of selection process for the vacancy.
Somebody's phone will ring asking them if they want the job for £**.** being told a new team will be arriving by such a date with the instruction and rule books handed to them on their first day.

I'll settle for anything that doesn't involve mention of the R and N L words

Looks like this phoenix fellow is running all the football operations including recruitment. Head coach appointed and its a cases of here are the players you coach them. Keith hill was never that kind of character as he ran Rochdale top to bottom. Any news on further departures? Lee either gets the job or gets made redundant. Top of my head there are also pollitt surely safe as you need a keeper coach, Jules under threat, Phillips hopefully not but with academy down to level 3 under threat. Spooner and mcgann guess safe as the coach the u18s.

Have we cancelled the bunk bed order for the sick bay
We should be looking forward to seeing a new slim line squad which is fitter and faster than the one before

As expected we are now looking at a new man at the head of all things football. I think that Tobias as the overall head of football could well be the way that things are going, otherwise, what was he brought in to do?

Interesting times and no doubt all will be revealed in the fullness of time. No word on Kenyon although it seems that he was brought in right from the beginning according to The Beano, so unless we hear something to the contrary, I assume he is still being kept on as an advisor, at least for now.

The club will have time to find a new head coach or manager for the new season and whoever it is, and depending on the role he is given, there will be plenty of time to assemble a team that can be ready for the next season whenever that will be.

We will still be under embargo so restrictions will still be in force. The good news is we will not have a deficit of twelve points to make up. The question is will we be able to achieve promotion at the first time of asking? I sincerely hope so but it very much depends on appointments and what sort of a team we can cobble together on a very tight budget.

Could it be worse than the last season? No, it has to be an improvement, otherwise, we really are doomed.

Pasty, you seem to be ruling out the standard of football in the lower leagues, not to mention the standard of refereeing. Perhaps there will be more, cloggers and bad refs, in league two and the injury list will reflect that.

We shouldn't cancel the order for the beds just yet.

Tobias told me he has everything covered with his computer modelling strange that I didn't think Airfix were still going

A decision is needed soon on the team selection method if we are to get the team sheet up on time when games resume.
It's going to be difficult to predict which one of these three it will be
- Bingo Machine
- Sinclair ZX
- Tobias's new lapdog

It's looking like September before the season will start but with the fake news we were subjected to regarding the EFL votes, anything can happen from the normal August start to sometime before Christmas.

I expect the recruiting process to start right now unless it's already underway. We will need Tobias to be ambidextrous and to be able to juggle the recruitment of a head coach/manager and a new squad of players.

There is a lot to be done and time is of the essence.

So what do you think announcement number 3 will contain the new manager or the big shake up perhaps 3 and 4 will come very quickly one after the other in a classic good news bad news ploy

posted on 14/6/20

Mark Howard is on a free if we are looking to replace Matthews.

posted on 14/6/20

I would think that the big shakeup will come next. Plans will have been in place for some time but the confirmation that we are to be relegation had to come first. Finishing touches to plans would need to be finalised and the people involved in the shakeup will need to be invited for a meeting to be either made redundant or asked to attend to see if they will accept a new position. They would also need to be briefed on what the implications of the new setup will be.

Favourites narrowing down to nigel clough, david lee and gary Bowyer. I very much doubt anyone currently employed would come due to compo. David lee would be the extremely cheap option. Bowyer probably the best candidate.

The quickie divorce from the ladies has gone through.
No rush on the manager front while Hill & Co remain employed until the end of the month.
The scissors have not been fully utilised to date they'll be busy cutting back soon.
I have a new super cool computer it has a EFL sticker on it I asked if this is this because its Fan less

Don't forget the Barrow manager. He is of particular interest to the club according to the BN. Clough is of interest to a Championship club so he may not be a possibility. Also, has Benny has stated anyone who is already in a job is unlikely because of the compensation that would be involved.

Within the next two weeks, I'm sure that there will be several more name that will come to the fore.

It's a good job we can wait a while isn't it
Sit and watch the EFL decisions for non league if you want the Barrow boy while the National league want ups there's lots of mumbling around all the play offs perhaps another meeting is required.

Darcy signed a 2 year deal

Good news regarding Rowan Darcy. Let's hope he can continue to improve and just as importantly......................
stay fit.

Good news about Darcy - another one of the decent kids signed up and I think he'll be even better at the level we'll be at next season.

As for the manager Steven Reid, (ex West Brom, Blackburn midfielder and current Scotland assistant coach), has been made favourite for the job according to Sky. Via their own betting company of course.

I'm not reading too much in to that one.

posted on 15/6/20

Stephen Reid has moved up to 2nd favourite behind nigel clough. Ryan Lowe has sneaked to 3rd. Find that one unlikely.

Clough been linked with the Birmingham job now.
