I wonder if once you’ve had this you’re immune afterwards. And if so, I wonder if in the coming weeks people who’ve had it and survived will get certificates saying ‘person x has a clean bill of health’ (or something like that) and they’ll slowly be integrated back into the work force
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m sure this won’t mutate over the coming years. Same as flu, that’s always the same 🤔
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's already mutating but as with flu vaccines will become easier and quicker to make.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no vaccine for flu, each year I have a shot that has a version they believe will be this years strain and it helps my immunity. Being a transplant patient this is critical to have and the silent pneumonia one every 5-10 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes what do you think that shot is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not a vaccine, it wil only reduce t he risk of catching flu. I have the non live version
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes a vaccine. It's literally called a flu vaccine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do people who have had it, then get flu Dr?

It’s not a vaccine, it’s to guess and help to build an immunity.

I'd happily take a hand out.

pumped thousands into the system over the years.
been off work at times and never ever claimed.

why shouldnt people be helped financially
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People who need help should absolutely be helped, obviously. However there should be no mass printing of money and supplying the whole population with £1000 month. That's ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it?

if im off work i have to try and live on SSP... which is 90 quid a week.
if my mrs does the same, we get to live on 720 quid a month give or take... that just covers our rent.

1000 quid is absolutely feck all in this day and age
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so your rent is 720pm
I wish you all the fortune and best of health, but if you and your Mrs were off sick and you each got £1k that is £2k pm. Are you saying that is not enough?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
my rent is 600 quid a month.
council tax, water rates, gas and electric, tv licence, car insurance well over a grand a month, probably close to 1200.

throw in things like fuel, 2 kids to also clothe and feed and other bits and bobs then its going to be pretty tight

Does anyone think Vitamin C pills are as important as they say? I’ve been taking medium to high doses every day even before this. Hopefully they pay off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think it is a magic bullet, but you wouldn't want to be deficient of vitamins. I suspect 100% rda would suffice.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Just vitamin C? or multivitamins too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've no idea the science. But would imagine a multi vitamin with iron is probably useful if you have any potential vitamin deficiencies. Unrelated to covid obviously

that is why it has to be assessed not a 1 grand for all adults like op initially suggested. The circumstance you described with 2 kids is clearly different from 2 adults with no kids

some like what you describe may need more, others less and some nothing. The only point I want to make is that a UBI without testing will lead to more problems.

My conspiracy theory crackpot of a friend reckons you shouldn't put metals into your body as it makes you a conductor for electronic waves. In fact it was this which started COVID-19. The Spanish Flu occurred when radio waves first came in, then more sickness when radar started being used all over the world during the world war. Now we've introduced 5g and where were the first towers put in? Wuhan. And there we have it, 5g caused COVID-19.

When I dispute any of it with facts I'm told to wake up and keep my cells clean.

I don't really get why it should be every person in the uk. I'd give mine to charity is it seems a bit sick for me to be on the take during a disaster.

Just bump up the benefits for people out of work, struggling with childcare etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is basically what they’ve done in NZ, along with an increase in in-work benefits for families, and I think is what will happen in the UK.

It might be coupled with an easy-to-access emergency unemployment payment.

I think it’s also probably the right thing to do right now. And I’m a proponent of UBI under normal circumstances.

The problem is that the UK economy is in very, very big trouble indeed - it was in serious bother before corona appeared - and measures like the one described by Robb would require the printing of serious amounts of money, and, in turn, the collapse of the pound (which is already faring worse than every other major currency worldwide).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Isn’t that relative though? Would the pound collapse if every country in the world is in the same boat? As in if every country props up it’s citizens their economies suffer so in the aftermath the pound is as strong or weak as the other countries who gave citizens a UBI?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, not every country in the world is in the same boat in terms of the impact of the virus.

Secondly, not many are in the position to be able to talk about delivering a temporary UBI, and even fewer will even contemplate the measure.

Thirdly, as I mentioned above, the UK economy is already in the merde. Boris has said he won’t consider extending the transition period, and as there won’t be any negotiations with the EU for months now you’d expect, that basically means the UK is headed for a no deal exit on WTO terms.

Printing the kind of money that would be required now, with the borrowing already announced, pound on the dive and the economy already headed for recession, would be catastrophic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What would be catastrophic would be if the govt does nothing. The G7 countries are all coordinating their response to this virus. The USA has announced a stimulus package of around $800bn yesterday as well.
The pound crashing is nothing to do with the govt but purely based on speculators who are making a killing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s partly due to the government.

I don’t want to be too critical of what they’re doing. They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place in many ways (partly of their own making, but again, we are where we are).

They do, however, have control of various fiscal and political levers.

The most obvious thing they should be doing is announcing an indefinite extension of the Brexit transition period whilst the virus and subsequent fallout is addressed, which would give business and investors certainty and reassurance, and, accordingly, the economy a massive shot in the arm.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I usually pat myself on the back when I spot an agenda, but you made no effort to hide yours
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry; but beyond the obvious, the economy *has* to be the number one priority now.

The kind of recession we’re heading for with a no deal Brexit compounding what’s going on at the moment will remove more years from British people’s lives than the coronavirus will.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What no deal Brexit. What recession because we leave t he EU??

If it does become a lock down situation, giving away money would be a bad idea imo.

Some people can't be trusted with money, they buy the wrong stuff.
Some people act like a-holes by cleaning out supermarkets.
Going to supermarkets can lead to the spread of the virus.

The govt should work with pharmacies and supermarkets to deliver necessities to homes. The govt pay the supermarkets direct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I doubt there is the infrastructure to deliver food to millions of homes every week
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Uber eats, deliveroo and Just Eat... Government contracts galore.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you joking?

Rightly, there are no negotiations going on at the moment. They will be suspended for months. There will not be time to negotiate a trade deal by the end of the year.

Boris has said he won’t consider changing legislation to allow for flexibility in the end date of the transition period, and it will remain the end of the year.

If:

- there is no trade deal by the end of the year
- the end date of the transition period remains the end of the year

Then:

- there is a no deal exit.

It’s quite simple. If you have a global recession coming, then whack it with a corona pandemic, then see your currency, markets and economy in particular smashed, then leave the world’s largest trading bloc and your largest trading partner with no trade deal, well, that’s asking for economic annihilation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but we voted out, we won, we get are country back so deal with it, sore loser.

Does he think the black death coincided with the invention of the rat?

I wouldn't be surprised. I try not to ask him any questions as I then have to read his crazy crap.

I can’t believe people get the ‘vaccine’ yet still get flu.

And they know the exact strain 6-9 months before it hits to start production.

It's pretty clear that you dont know what youre talking about.

Educate me on how this vaccine works when it’s not known what it will be vaccinating against on the days it goes into production.

Why don't you ask the doctor before he injects you with it?

You'd think people would look it up before allowing somebody to inject them with something.

Why do the unemployed need more money? Childcare shouldn't be an issue as most kids will be at home.

Ha, I try to keep it separate from here. When are you doing more YouTube videos? Youtubers I’d imagine will make a huge amount of money in the coming weeks.
