On this occasion I'm gonna say, you have to have been there.

way to kill an article flash...lol only joking.

I was there for the pool one, I have been to several unreal games, the barca 1-0. The napoli come back game, even the ajax one recently. I remember a gudjohsen over head kick against leeds, the jimmy floyd hat trick against spurs.
Also a spurs game post matthew harding or osgood dying the atmosphere was electric.

But the 4-2 barcelona game is the loudest I have heard the bridge I reckon.
When we went 3-0 up I could not hear myself. It was an unbelievable game and performance.

There have been random games over the years where the crowd has been strangely loud as well, a chelsea v middlesborough 3rd round of the cup sticks out.
A fairly mild game until cudicini got sent off for attempting to knee windass after windass basically assaulted him. From that moment on the game was spicy and the atmosphere phenomenal.

Agree on wisey, one of the best talents and midfielders i've seen at the bridge.
Just behind the vieiras, gerrards, lampards for me. Great crosser, eye for goal, good tackler, good engine. Supremely underrated because of his personality.

Infact wise had the beating on keane on several occassions. Obviously our team was just not up there that 1 or 2%(99 etc) to challenge utd but had we won a league title I believe wise would be considered an all time great

There have been many memorable games since I first passed through the turnstiles of The Bridge in 1974 Flash.

However one game in particular still stands out in my mind.

I think what makes it so memorable for me was that after leaving school and attending every game, most were at the start of our darkest years and I'd made peace with the fact we were an ordinary to poor side and the highlights of our seasons thus far, were entertaining the likes of York, Plymouth, Hereford and Oldham.

So to have Liverpool visit in 78 in the FA Cup was a special day to begin. Although we were back in Div 1, I don't think many of us gave a hope of making the next round against the top club in Europe at the time!

However the Aristocrats from Merseyside found Clive Walker to hot to handle that day, he tore them apart whenever he had the ball and we ran out 4-2 winners.

A big crowd and great atmosphere made it one of the most memorable days I've experienced in football.

That was great to see again Brummie. Definitely one of mine. Also from that era, I remember a cup replay v Shef Wed. I not so good with dates, but we had titanic tussles with them - this one at home one evening, and what sticks in my mind was we won 2.1, right near the end Mickey Thomas hurling himself to head the winner.

At Spurs one evening another cup game - League cup I think. Hudson getting the winner in last minute.

Another evening game at home v Spurs - we lost 1.2 I think.

The semi-final against Leeds or was it Liverpool? when 'Percy' Mortimore had a goal disallowed, and we lost.

Difficult to plumb memory banks from so long ago, and all our recent unforgettable ECL games come top, but for amazing atmosphere these are the ones that I remember from last century.

That would have been the replay after the dramatic 4-4 League cup tie at Hillsborough Bloo?

I loved our tussles with Wednesday myself, one of the few clubs I do have a soft spot for beyond the hallowed walls of Stamford Bridge. I'd love to see them in the top tier again!

It was amazing, although the best I've ever known there was the FA Cup quarter final against Palace in 75/6ish!

We lost 3-2 after coming from behind to level 2-2 only for Peter Taylor to grab their winner.

It was an atmosphere that I'll never heard surpassed now we have all seating grounds!

I was there for that one too Brummie - don't remember seeing you though!

I did enjoy going to Palace one season and seeing Bobby whack in 4.

I was at this game also and it was an electric atmosphere. League Cup Semi Final 1972 and we won on away goals.

Sorry boys only just seen this article so I am a bit late coming to the party.

Coming to the favourite games at the Bridge, it would take something special to beat the 4-3 game against Bolton in '78. 0-3 down with 15 minutes to go before Flasher Walker came on and turned it all on it's head. Sam Allardyce scored an own goal for our winner in the the last minute. Biggish was there that day also and admits he left at half time, I resisted the temptation (fack knows why) and it turned out to be one of the most memorable games ever at the Bridge.

Respect also to the other games referred to above, they also were very special. I've lost count of the amount of fantastic days that I've had over the decades at the Bridge.

I always stayed until the bitter end no matter what the score. I never imagined beyond my wildest dreams we'd get even a point with 15 minutes to go let alone both (it was only 2 points for a win in those days).

For atmosphere it didn't reach the heights of other games but for sheer wild delirium when the 4th goal went in, it was hard to beat!
