They won’t hear it

Anyway wouldn’t it be better for them to get a pay rise rather than a round of applause?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They should be paid whatever they want.

It is a disgrace the amount of folk that earn more than a nurse when you compare certain jobs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do a safety critical job, but no where near what nurses do and I am actually embarrassed that I get more than them, my sis in law is front line and gets around £15 an hour, that will be one of the higher earners I’d imagine
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My background is supply chain but am currently working in SAP master data and it is embarrassing that I can earn twice what a nurse does over here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Barry was saying he is not working and getting 350 euro per week, which is bad news, but a decent bend it compared to UK.

My bro down in Swords years back signed on for short while and I was amazed how much he got.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they originally offered a covid 19 payment of €203 a week to those losing their job due to the virus.

This was far too little to survive on so it was increased to €350 a week. It is only for 3 months and I shudder at the thoughts of the budget in October when the estimated 15-20 billion Euro bill for this will need to be repaid

I can WFH but it’s not ideal as I only have a small laptop. I often analyse spreadsheets and excel docs for my job which requires two large screens so it’s a lot more difficult on one where you are minimising pages all the time.

Plus 606 is more distracting while at home

Agree on the 606 thing

Will your company not provide monitors for those WFH?

Mine will if needed but I dont mind the laptop as I have worked on long projects involving travel and only had a laptop screen to look at.

Also I hate excel as I am not very good with it.

There’s a monitor at my mums but annoyingly I can’t find the hdmi cable to set it up with the laptop.

Yeah I use excel but am no means advanced with it. I’d say intermediate. Most work is on an accounts software

Whilst I have no problem with paying both hospital and care workers more there are a lot of them out there. It will cost a lot of money. Personally I think all governments should prioritise health above everything else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This this and this again and then closely followed by education.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suppose our illustrious leaders would say this would just create a vicious circle of more people living longer ergo having to pay out more.

What’s all this “unusual activity” by Russian warships in the English Channel and North Sea then?

What they up to?

They are hardly going to know are they ( well actually there is a nurse that lives opposite me but she should be in work ).

I’ll say my gratitude other ways

You can if you want to.

I’m applauding our NHS staff, not the people (including Johnson) who brought the NHS to the brink through a decade of Austerity, Junior Doctors strikes and the loss of 33’000 EU citizens who used to work in our health service.

Yes, anyone deliberately coughing on NHS workers or police to be jailed for up to two years.

Spitting at someone is actually classed as assault, so this is more or less the same thing.
