A fair solution?

There’s often a natural drop off when a league is won and your form was starting to fall away in recent games

Don’t get me wrong, you deffo would have won by a canter - but perhaps by around 15

This one's ruined anyway, I can't see anyone taking much joy from a game of football after everything that's happened and is going to happen.

We can all get partisan - I don't much fancy United playing another mandatory season in the ropey, but so be it. Write this one off and start again when everything's clear and there's some optimism back in the world.

So there's no joy for the league continuing but joy for it being scrapped and starting a new one?

Yeah I think we should just stick with what they have decided.

Yes, that's what I said. When this horrible period we're living through has resolved itself let's start again. There's more to life than 'but we were going to win it'

It doesn't make sense. Why does starting a new league mean there's more to life but finishing the current one doesn't?

There's more to life than 'Liverpool are going to win so let's scrap it'.

If that’s what we were going to do then why give us a 9 point head start? Why not the 22 point advantage we’ve amassed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s just a random number I came up with - as the season hasn’t finished yet and you may well have dropped more points I doubt you’d win by 22 even if the season had continued.

Given that it’s a new season, surely 9 points would be enough?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, it’s a random number and makes zero sense.

If they are to scrap the season (which i don’t think they will) then either everyone starts from zero or if you’re doing headstarts we start with the points lead we were on before this season ended.

To start at totally random numbers is ridiculous, otherwise I’ll argue we could start with a 30 point lead as city probably would have dropped more points

My dog is getting walked to death at the moment. He doesn’t get excited when I pick up his lead anymore.

I have a pair of teenagers back home because their colleges are shut. One of them in self isolation in his room.

The Mrs and I have probably watched fifteen seasons of Silent Witness in the last two weeks.

Leeds are what 7 points head of 3rd place and this oaf of OP wants Leeds to start next season with a 6 point lead
Liverpool are 29 points ahead of 3rd place and we LFC only get a 9 point lead to start next season off?
what a complete moron. then again he is a manc. so that's a valid excuse

Imagine during a pandemic where we’re all trying to be kind and help each other out someone is still playing the part of ‘angry football rival’

It’s so retro and charming at times like these. Thank you

Fancy some people still trying to get one over their rivals during a pandemic.

Your not kind your being bias..if you want to add points from a previous season. don't take points off a team with a gigantic league. You only giving LFC 9 points. so you think you think you team has a chance of the title. Get real.
And ps BE HONEST.. it kinda helps?

the solution to me is simple. Start the season in July. add 9 fixtures to next season.so you finish the current season then start the next one straight away.
we have 3 months to see how things go..Ie April May and June
You can easily play 47 games from July to May.
Teams should have the rights to opt out of the cups if they want.

Firstly it’s ‘you’re’

And secondly I’m just riffing. If next season Liverpool started with a 15 point advantage i wouldn’t mind at all

It’s not really about the exact amount of points - more a potential solution to be fair to everyone IF the season doesn’t start for a while

OP needed to stop at

" ... cancel this season altogether ......"

Because that is exactly what has realistically happened.

The rest of the post is drivel
