Ighalo

Why would they pay that much money for someone who used to sit on there bench most of time?

This seems like agent mischief. United want to sign him but he clearly wants a better wage packet.

You paid Sanchez £850k per week. You'll pay Ighalo at least half of that.

Just one weeks wage there sets up his entire family in Nigeria up for life.

It will depend on what he really wants. Stay with us and be a bit part player at best for around 100K per week. Or play regularly for a fortune.

I think he will opt for us if given the chance.

He sat on the bench for the Chinese club?

I don’t know but surely not?

Think I read somewhere he was top scorer in the league.

Fair play to him if he does.

If this is true and he chooses to stay with us I'll love him even more

You know he took a huge pay drop to join us, right?

His family in Nigeria ain’t gonna be poor if he stays here and only gets one hundred thousand pound every seven days.

He’s already had a fair bit of time over there too on massive wages.

That being said, I definitely wouldn’t hold it against him if he went back.

A few months to avoid Corona is one thing but a 3-4 year deal is another thing.

15 starts in 17 games isn't really sitting on the bench most of the time is it

The reason they'll offer so much is he's been successful so far at United... Albeit for a short period

But his profile will be higher commercially there atm so it'll be seen as a big feather in the cap for both club and league if he stays in China

He's already on 350k a week i think over there... It's not a massive jump

You'd think that Ighalo would have significantly higher earning opportunities through sponsorships / endorsements if he stayed at United. So the gap in overall earnings could be narrower than it looks when you only consider salaries.

I get what your saying, in context, but how crazy does that sound? 50k a week is not a lot of money? Can you imagine that hitting your account every Friday? What a difference that would make for you, your family and friends,
I’d still drink real ale & eat curries though lol don’t think I’d develop a taste for lobster & caviar washes down with Don Perignon, I’d be more Del Boy though lol

Makes sense. Now that he has played for United he has more star status than before which the chinese fans will lap up.

All respective parties have to find out when their respective leagues will resume before any big decision is made.

At the moment I believe that Ighalo still wants to play for us - albeit maybe for a little more money. But if the £400 k a week offer remains the only viable one in the end, then no one can really blame him for taking it up - whenever the CSL resumes.

In the end, United would be suicidal to match anywhere near that offer (if true) regardless of his usefulness to us.

Personally, I hope he chooses us. But I wouldn’t be distraught if he left in the end. Just a little fecking gutted.

ighalo was already on 350k in china so them offering 400k in relative term is not as bizarre asit sounds

he was willingly to take a pay cut to join utd. if he goes back to china it would be because of exra 50k they are offering .
