Gomes offered 30k a week?

In light of his impact on the 1st team, Greenwood will probably be offered a fresh deal that will surpass Gomes.

Supposedly Chong’s contract is £30k a week as well. I suspect Barf is correct and that Greenwood will be offered new, and improved, terms on his current deal.

Isn’t Greenwood a couple of years younger than both of them? I bet his next contract will be considerably larger that both Gomes and Chong.

Probably the case. He certainly deserves to be earning more than the likes of Pereira, Jesse, Jones etc.

Can I come work for you?

The guy’s done nothing in a Utd short... two of the three you mentioned have helped us win silverware

I have a problem with footballers’ salaries being reported on a per week basis actually.

It kind of removes them from the rest of us, and makes it sound somehow slightly less ridiculous when the agent of an 18 year-old unproven kid (and I’m not talking about Gomes here for the record) is “only asking for an extra £5k per week”.

What this really means is an extra £260,000 per year. Extra.

If the Metro is correct, Gomes is being offered a salary of over £1.5m, which would be guaranteed over at least four years I would imagine. Enough for him and his family to live on comfortably for the rest of their lives.

In context, the most I’ve ever earned was around one twentieth of the salary proposed, and despite saving the bulk of it after tax, I still felt like I was living like a king.
