Growing number of clubs want season voided

It would be ridiculously unfair on Liverpool to void the season when they only need six points to win the title. Liverpool could even lose their remaining nine games and still win the title if City are unable to win eight of their remaining ten games which is entirely possible.

Liverpool won the league this season and everyone of sound mind knows it. Now isn't a time for people to revert to individual agendas when debating this. This is about being fair.

And I don't see why the season can't be finished whenever the football resumes. It's far from ideal and there will be issues but these are unprecedented times so accommodations will have to be made.

Just seen his latest update. So it seems two, maybe three clubs want it voided

It would be FAR more of a legal minefield to void the season. No question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This season was interrupted due to an unprecedented event, and though the premier leaguemoney grease balls took the decision to postpone correctly, it could have made that decision earlier. We had games where players were told not to shake hands, and yet this is a contact sport and players will come in contact as well as with themselves but also with thier surroundings - so to say playing the game is safer is again just total disregard to the current climate and events.
The season must be written off as an extraordinary one-off case, with the intention to safeguard people's health and the spread of the virus.
Talks of next season are premature. We don't know right now how effectively the virus will be contained and when will the situation will be back to "normal".
Declare the season null and void. Act to save lives and help to stop the spread of the virus.

Like I said, it's a contact sport and this play thegames behind the closed doors, are you telling me the players will keep social distancing while playing?

They won't!! Very much going to help the virus o spread.
Football isn't important right now when you hear 700+ deaths in the UK from the virus.

posted on 28/3/20

Of course it isn't important right now. Which is why the season will be resumed only when it is safe to do so.

My comments are more to due with people wanting the season to resume.

Titles/relegations /European places are decided on a completion of a season. Not while the season is yet to finished.
Should a team be given a title, however much ahead they are? Should a side be relegated eve if they could in reality avoid it in normal circumstances?
It sounds not right - though for Liverpool, it would be both very unlucky and even unfair.

But unfair things happen in life and we move in all the time. It's all debatable and up to the premier league. Again not talking about the resumption of the season

There is no doubt Liverpool will get the sh1tty end of the stick and I understand why their supporters can't even begin to contemplate the season being cancelled.

However I believe the powers that be will priortitise having a full 20/21 campaign over salvaging the 19/20 season.

I don't expect Liverpool, Leeds or Leicester supporters to agree but its a perfectly reasonable opinion to hold.

There may not be a full 20/21 season anyway.

How can you prioritise next season when you don’t even know when it will start

As UEFA, PL, and FA have stated football will resume when it’s safe to do and the season will be completed.

If they change their mind so be it but right that is where we are at

If the 20/21 season needs to be made shorter to allow this season to be completed then so be it. They could just forfeit FA Cup and League Cup for a season. Have less international breaks as well.

posted on 28/3/20

This season will be voided and written out of the history books in due course - Those that think or hope it will just be delayed and finished sometime later are totally deluded

The season is finished - it’ll be just like 1993: The Grand National that never was

They’ll be many that won’t like it or accept it, but that is the way it’ll be

Might even be an idea to just have cup comps next season if time is constrained. Restart the league the season after, or change it to coincide with the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar.

Think ultimately this season will be called off.

The stopping of the lower leagues is the start, slowly moving up to the top four leagues.

Ultimately, player power could well decide the outcome.

^And quite rightly so, in this instance.

They already know what they're they are going to do - they are drip feeding the inevitable - it’s started with the lower leagues, only a matter of time before it filters across the whole Country/Divisions

There’s no way, this League Season will be completed

It’s already got a name: The Season that never was

It will go down badly if you are at the top and well if you are near the bottom.

That is obvious and should make no difference to the correct decision being arrived at.
