I’s that why there is a billion pounds worth more food in people’s homes than there was 10 days ago? People have been hoarding like crazy, especially at the beginning.

They’ve just broken the rules or managed to do it before the rules from the supermarkets came into affect.

Supermarkets are better now, but far from normal.
As soon as the government announced school closure over 3 weeks ago people rushed to the stores and emptied the shelves, this went on for a few days. Because of people started to hoard, it caused a reaction for others to do the same.
The shelves are pretty much back to normal now, but some items still out f stock, like self bake baguettes, dettol surface cleaner.
Well I’m going to the supermarket later so I’ll soon see.

Since the social distancing came in and the shops have limited the number of people allowed in at any one time it’s given them a chance to get shelves refilled.
Only over a week ago they were practically bare but now I’d suggest they were up at circa 90% of all products being fairly readily available.
Things like pasta, tinned tomatoes and still for some stupid reason loo rolls aren’t so easily found. But lo and behold my Mrs tells me there was hand sanitiser by the box yesterday and when she asked what was the limit on taking them the girl said they hadn’t been instructed so she could take as many as she wanted
She took one. But was only allowed to but two of the ready to make porridge pots I have every day even though the shelves were full of the stuff.
Ridiculous.
