"I'll always love Spurs, but it's one of those things. I've always said if I don't feel like we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I'm not someone to stay there just for the sake of it.“

I wonder why the bbc left of the I love spurs start of that comment? Starting with the I’ll always love spurs sounds like he’s thinking of leaving soon.

“ I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs.
But if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I’m not just someone to the stay there for the sake of it. I’m an ambitious player.”

"You never know. Arsenal is a massive club, a great club. I have been playing here for eight years and I love this club. Whatever happens that will never change.

"We'll sit down next week. Arsenal is a massive club, whatever happens I'll always love this club."

- Robin van Persie, 2012

Now admittedly van Persie was a couple of years older then than Kane is now but, though it's always nice to hear, from experience I wouldn't put too much by any player saying how much they 'love' a club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This has nothing to do with what I’m asking
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh so the most important thing you want to know is why the BBC edited it the way they did?

Okay...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yes that’s why I asked that question

Can you blame Kane, this team is awful and not winning anything anytime soon.

I think we should go after Son, would fit our system of play nicely.

Him and Werner would be great additions
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kane may look a bit stupid, but he wouldn`t lower his standards by going to Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't want Kane, Son will do though

Levy would charge through the roof for either of them

In any case we have to keep both Son and Kane for the foreseeable future. We have enough good players in the side (when fit) that with a few additions, particularly defensively, we can challenge again

Tottenham hotspur are a joke of a club right now thanks to the board. Mourinho's appointment was n nothing short of a disgrace. Couldnt think of a worse manager to be at the helm.

Spurs will sign n'obody again this summer, that's if they sign anyone. I don't blame Harry Kane one single bit.

If we can't convince a spurs fan to stay at the club with our ambition then that tells you everything you want to know about our chances of winning a trophy in the next 5 - 10 years.

Joke.

No idea what you’re going on about? What am I clutching at?

Kane says these comments every season and I’ve said recently if he’s got a brain he’d get out ASAP as we are going nowhere for the feasible.

Such a strange comment from you

For example taken 2 years ago

After scoring twice in Tottenham’s 3-0 FA Cup win over AFC Wimbledon on Sunday, Kane was asked what the club needed to do to secure his long-term future. “I’ve always said, just keep progressing, keep getting better,” Kane said. “We want to start winning trophies so that’s the aim. As long as the club keeps doing that then I’m happy here.”

Taken last year -

I’ve always said as long as the club is moving in the right direction and showing the right ambition, I want to be part of the journey,” Kane told ESPN.

He's too good a player to go his career without winning something. Sad thing is that he loves Spurs but any special moments he is to have will be found at another club, because the board isn't capable of fulfilling his ambitions.

I wouldn't even begrudge him going to a fellow PL club, as long as it isn't a rival.

The lack of progress is there for all to see. CL final aside which was lucky, the club has been going backwards since 3 seasons ago and getting further away from winning stuff. The only thing that should make him want to stay other than his loyalty, is the fact Mourinho is at the helm and he has a history of winning trophies, but as we've seen so far this season, he looks very far from accomplishing that.

If he has any sense he should want to leave now. Going to have to be a huge offer to capture him though.

posted on 30/3/20

What will be interesting is if levy rewards his loyalty, if he choses to leave.

Personally I think levy will demand an insane sum no one will pay, harry won't kick off, and he knows it.
Harrys form will suffer and/or it'll disrupt the dressing room... will levy refuse to sell if it isn't silly money and keep an unhappy player? Or will he grant kane a fee for a more reasonable sum?

If he holds kane and creates problems I can see it putting off other players from joining/ renewing contracts.

It's a really complex issue really. I unfortunately think he'll ask for 100 mill+, only teams like man u (that he won't join imo) will offer it, and his form will suffer til he moves for 20-30 million less.

Of levy had only reinvested profit into the team this wouldn't be an issue. Reap what you sow I guess

Slow but still continuing via Skype, teams, zoom etc.

Also have other HR duties I do which continue as usual except remotely.

I might be having a Skype interview this week.

Question for you. How are you expected to dress for a Skype interview? They’re not expecting me to wear a full suit are they (at least the top half ) ?

At this rate there will be no one that Liverpool can sign.

All options not possible for the same reason, they can't "get in the team".

well that's where the inevitable decline of the side will happen if the current players arent replaced with younger players who can fill-in in the longer term.

the top sides in England struggle more now with the signing of teams below them best players because of the ridiculous values placed on their head as they are pivotal to that side, and even the lesser clubs have money where they dont need the transfer fees for sole funding

Mane and Salah are still such a great age and same peak period as Son for example

Personally I can see very few players moving under the current situation. This season could be cancelled, as could next. Makes no sense really for players to move in an unknown situation.

Other big teams seem to do it well and without declining too much so I don't see why Liverpool cannot. Also, nobody can bring through youngsters like Klopp. We have a few waiting on the sidelines.

If you look at comments by players then many are willing to join Liverpool as it is. The "can't get into he team" argument is more a social media thing.

IMO, Liverpool will manage to sign/make top players and keep challenging while Klopp is in charge.
