You're a Spurs fan.
You won't be needing Eurostar for a few seasons.

Hope they go bust, that's just daylight robbery

Best you can do as mentioned in the op is not use the service again.

Sandy, thats because officially the restrictions are not in place for that date. As soon as the restrictions hit your travel date, they should either give you a refund, a voucher or allow free change of date. My mom had the same with her holiday booking for end of April. No refund possible. Now the restrictions have extended and cancelling is possible. Same with Ryanair flights.

Just keep the trip as is and wait until it gets cancelled by them.

Wonder if you could change your date to an earlier one (tomorrow?), pay the excess and then (in theory) get your money back quicker once they cancel the new, earlier date.

I heard them saying on the radio this morning if you push for a refund on travel during this you need to get it back

they need to refund you

Sandy slagging team merits from the late 60s, yet go bonkers anytime people disregard Jimmy Greaves accomplishments. Have some consistency, geez man.

You shouldn’t have changed and paid for new dates. Travel companies are being stingy now but it will be cancelled closer to the date and refund +/- compensation should follow even if they’re slow to do that

The airlines are all at it.

If you don't rebook to a later and more expensive option, you're classed as a 'No Show' and will lose all your money.

I have an Airbnb booked in the Lake District in around 2-3 weeks time.

They are only willing to give me the money back as travel credit towards my next trip or I get 50% back as cash since that was the owners policy regardless. At the moment it looks like I will have to go for the former.

It's probably best keeping these things as credit, gives you something to look forward to when this all ends

Parents were supposed to go away in March but due to Covid-19, WizzAir, who they booked with offered them the option of 100% refund in cash or 125% refund in WizzAir credits - they took the credit option. Good gesture by the airline there.

Should have at least been given the option of credit or refund. I work for an American company and I've never known such basic jobs made so hard.

That`s because Jimmy Greaves was the greatest ever British goalscorer. Celtic were not the greatest ever British team.

I didn`t want to change, I just wanted to cancel, and they said I could change. They then charged me more than the original trip. If I had left it right up until the date, as they are still running, they would have just said I didn`t show up. Tough luck.

They really do need bringing to account in this time of crisis, where we are all doing our bit to get through it. Government should now be bringing in laws to enforce any cancellations of travel, travellers are giving full refunds, no ifs, no buts.

But you can’t dismiss a team’s accolades due to how long ago it was.

Then state a player from the same era is the best ever. It is completely contradictory - no matter what way you dress it up to yourself Sandy.

Train companies have been quite good. They’ve changed the stupid advance single ticket rule. For anyone not aware how they work, for some train journeys especially longer ones, the only way to get a ticket that isn’t stupidly expensive is to get an advance single, usually weeks-months in advance. It is at a relatively reasonable price but it is for a specific time and date, and is non-refundable. So if you book a train journey for a trip weeks in advance and have your you don’t need to make that journey through something completely out of your control (eg. A worldwide global pandemic) it is not refundable.

Surprisingly they recently lifted the non-refund rule for advance tickets (after saying they wouldn’t at start of March) and credit to them, the process is simple. You just go online, fill out quick details and refund will come back within a month.

Like the Sky Sports cancel thing, wish more companies just made it this simple. Like others have inferred on this thread lots of other travel companies just creating more grief for themselves and their customers. I was meant to fly with EasyJet last week. My flight was cancelled a few days before, in fact their whole fleet is grounded. Normally when a flight is cancelled, there is an online full refund claim. EasyJet CHANGED their website to remove this - their refund page only shows how to use credit to book another flight, in small print it says if you want a full refund to contact their customer services. Lol.

Contacting their customer services of course is met by radio silence. Call doesn’t connect, no replies to emails and their social media pages are inundated. It is of course a busy time but they’d make things much easier for them and customers to just have a simple refund option on their page. Perhaps the only caveat I’ve considered is they’re keeping customer’s money to pay staff knowing full well that they will have to refund customers eventually.

We were the first British team to lift any European Silverware 1964 and Celtic were the first British team to lift the CL 1967 and I respect both clubs achievements in that regard!
