Setting a good example to others, though I expect we'll get hammered by FFP when everythings back to normal.
=======
Can’t help feeling like this gesture is entirely about the FFP and trying to make amends
A PR exercise and the money? Well the Sheikh won’t bat an eyelid on that
He’s got tons of it
Sorry dude

Everton have paid all casual matchday staff for rest of seasons games and have no plans to furlough any staff.
We have a millionaire owner, who cares about FFP, it’s about what’s right.

Exactly but will rival clubs look at it this way if they can gain an advantage when things are back to normal?

Well done City.....exactly how it should be done. Tbh I am disgusted with my club but thankfully clubs like City have shown what a class act they are .
In light of my clubs stance I believe the prem league for this season should be null and void....thas how pzzd of I am.

Dude, I had a go at my club and the chairman, early on last week on this very subject.
It's a disgrace that a super rich club like Spurs would furlough permanent staff?
I accept that City are doing the right way but you have to ask about their motives?
Anyway, ok here's my for this gesture by City.
Hope Spurs rethink the matter.
In fairness, MOST of the fans who have furloughed staff have been highly critical of their clubs.

So even though City have done the right thing, people still want to have a pop at them because they are City.
Whatever their motives if any, they have done the right thing by continuing to pay their staff.
Well done City in showing others how to stand by their staff in moments of crisis

Couldn’t care about rivals, if my club is doing things right then I continue to support.
They use this scheme, that’s me done with Everton.
Liverpool have a group of owners who are worth lots we are told. Just for once, the right thing to do is help the lowest paid survive. Or lose the support of the guys sat in the stands.

Thought I read that Wolves were doing this for all staff til the end of the season a few weeks ago. Don't quote me on that though

Perhaps, but compared to the shameful behaviour of spurs it’s to be lauded.
It's not a very good PR exercise if that's what it is.
No mention on the BBC or in the local paper.

Steady on, Liverpool still deserve the title. It's not great they have to furlough staff but the players and fans deserve that title chill out
Well done City.
As for Walker, if you’re gonna catch it (and anything else that may come along whilst having a seexx party) you may as well catch it whilst having the time of your life
At least Walker stayed at home, it's the prozzies that should be getting the stick.

It’s a shame really that a club has to be applauded just for doing the right thing. I don’t pretend to have an in-depth knowledge of all PL clubs finances, but I can’t see why any established Prem club would need to do this other than to protect profits.
