I thought people working in essential jobs were allowed to leave there homes to go to work.
Unless you count being prime minister of a country as a non essential job.

I should imagine he will be placed where the security services feel is the best place for security reasons.

Yeah, probably. I think they possibly thought that they could ‘fess up to it, apologise and get things back on track. But it was relentless at the press conference today, and it’s an unnecessary distraction for the FM right now.
Stupid thing to do.
Darwinism at its finest. If he dies, he takes the Darwin Award 2020.
Telling people shaking hands is fine, go out and shake hands, and then end up with Covid-19 and die.
Over 1.25m people have the virus, I have the least sympathy for Boris, which is still a hell of a lot more than he would have for any of us.
Apart from Ginger maybe.
