The big earners are deferring some of their wages for 3 months to help top up the ones that are getting furloughed and assisted through the government scheme then?
Well done.

They haven’t started the furlough of staff yet have they?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, couldn’t find the form

Clearly the right thing to do but as Mags has pointed out there’s a massive bill coming in July. Just before the 12th too
What then especially if the league hasn’t started back up, Sky/BT don’t pay up and everything is still in limbo?
Worrying times for all businesses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I assume that they are hoping to defer that payment until after they have received some ST money. They start next season in a big hole.
Basically the players are lending the club money. I presume that King and the three bears have refused to do so.
Their situation becomes more parlous by the day.

Yes its just a deferral I would have preferred them to take a cut as well.
Over paid greedy footballers though so what do you expect.
It does only kick it down the road but its cash kept in the business for a decent amount of time and I would hope the payback is over another decent amount of time.
If it goes on then possibly wage cuts, possibly further deferrals, possibly job losses, and ultimately possible closure.
As you say worrying times .

‘ Due to the extraordinary challenges from the ongoing crisis, Rangers intends to implement the Coronavirus job retention scheme for a number of employees.
Rangers will ensure that everyone furloughed under this government scheme will receive 100 per cent salary through ‘top up’ assistance from the club with all other conditions and benefits remaining unchanged.‘

They’ve about 7 weeks worth until end May unless it’s extended.

The club will have to fund the salaries of furloughed staff until the government repays them. Likely until May.
Something about a form or something. I don’t know.

The first payment is the administrator I think. Then it’s wages funded from the government on minimum levels. Unless they have assets to sell (which they do) but that will take time and no doubt there’ll be yet another takeover.
