OP is confusing. It seems to be 100% of wages for the 3 months?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Duke copied and pasted the official (?) announcement. I don’t see any mention of percentages.
They haven't offered to reduce their wages. Only defer them.

Bluebell seems to think that 'defer' means cut by 50%
Well. Seems to be quite misleading.
Wonder why?

FF is quite funny although the situation is unfortunate.
Opinions range from 'this is a class gesture from class players and just what I expect from our dignified and class club' to 'naw it isnae'

Fwcking Fruitcakes
It’s an interest free loan then. Very noble.
What happens to players whose contracts finish end of May or whenever?

Having a read through it just now. Some had already dug a hole for themselves by slating Celtic for using the furlough scheme, and praising Liverpool for reversing their decision to use it. Some haven’t worked out that they’ll still owe this money at the end of it.
Great read.
Btw-I don’t think they deserve any criticism over this, but I don’t think they really deserve a massive amount of praise for it either. If they’d taken a cut, then fair enough.
I’m just enjoying reading them sniping at each other.

I can imagine most of them won’t understand what deferral even means
Is it like a deferred sentence?
Be nice and it's okay?

Helps the cash flow as they don’t pay out for 3 months when hopefully things are better.
They then have to pay it back unless the players have agreed a phased repayment.

Now if they had just taken that £40m for kamara, £50m for Alfie and not spent £7m on Kent they'd be in an entirely different situation.
All seems a bit short sighted now.
Alfie’s sale will help I’m sure.
He wants away anyway.

They’ll survive this. Some clubs might not though.
Be interesting to see if emergency payments to clubs from the SFPL are made at any point soon.

They likely will be but payments were made only 2/3 weeks ago.
Rangers and motherwell got £350k, Celtic got £390k.
Something around that anyway.
I think Gerrard will decide himself how long he stays
I’d guess the repayment of the deferral might be spread over the remaining term of their contracts. Either way it’s a further unexpected burden as this will be for all clubs.
