Glad you're ok ( as well as you can be ) Dubs.

Tbh I don’t think he’s in ICU ‘just in case’

posted on 6/4/20

I think it’s pretty poor timing to be criticising someone in ICU right now. Save that for when and if they recover. He’s obviously in a serious condition right now.

Feel free to criticise for me Dubs. Whilst I wish no ill on anyone, what the conservative government have done to the NHS, community services and the public sector over the last 10 years deserves every condemnation it receives. I’m sure you’ve probably felt the impact of the removal of some of these key services for the elderly and vulnerable more than anyone.

As for whether it is “just in case” for Boris Johnson or not, it was announced as “as a precaution”. If that’s the language being used for a critical condition it’s either a lie to manage the public, or its suggesting they’re taking up an ICU bed when someone more in need could require it.

Now I’m not going to argue whether it’s right or working for Johnson to be given an ICU bed as a precaution as as much as I deplore than man and his politics, he is the political leader of this country and one that is needed to maintain order and calm at this time.

Anyway, that aside, it’s good to hear from you Dubs and glad you’re ok if not woefully isolated and no doubt bored and lonely. Stay strong keep making use of the services that are being offered to you. Sounds like some great people and support groups are stepping up for you.

Football will be back mate, and your match-day threads will be even more important than ever.

Stay safe.

People’s reactions on here during this crisis speaks volumes for me.

Put aside your party political issues for one second - it’s clear that the PM is in a serious condition and of course public communications need to be handled sensitively given where we are currently. You don’t get put in an ICU for no good reason - his condition has deteriorated and it’s serious.

With that in mind I would have expected a bit more class from you and Dublin - not taking this opportunity to voice your issues with austerity and even suggesting a valuable ICU bed has been taken up

Now is not the time for political debate or criticism.
The country is in crisis, yes should have done this better or that needs improving, but we just have to realise the seriousness of our situation and deal with it as best as we can.
I have strong views on many things, but it is not appropriate to air them at a time when we should all be pulling together.
Respect and compassion for others is whats needed, this crisis should be bringing out the best in us all.
We should all be praying for all who are suffering at present, and hope that some normality returns soon.
Be careful, be kind,be safe.

It's good to hear that you are doing OK in the circumstances Dubs.

It's not the time to make political points, we all need to pull together to meet this global challenge.

Boris didn't look well in his podcast last week, it's been a shock to see him in intensive care. I can assure you that he will not be there for frivolous reasons, he's been having breathing difficulties. I wish him well and hope he has a speedy recovery.

Keep safe all.

Unfortunately I'm not the best educated and struggle with spelling and put my iq at average at best,
I don't discuss items on here generally as I can't debate or argue my case, so usually I'd just comment agreeing with what someone else has said,

Obviously I wish Boris no harm and a full recovery

I just find it strange that he as pm was given a bed as a precaution or where we lied to about how ill he was?
Looks that way now!
Because you would not have been given one,
And If I go to hospital with this virus
Actually I wouldn't get that far
But I'd be identified as no chance of recovery even if it was slight and put aside to die
So when I see those headlines of cause I'm angry
I'm f k furious that 10+ yrs of stripping this country
Has it put in this position
Every thing is under maned under funded and operating at minimum capacity,
Not saying Labour would have done any better
A lot of companies are laying people off to save money when they have millions in the bank

Some companies need avoiding when this is over and others should be helped if needed
Tesco have gone above and beyond for there staff
Richard Branson is another story

There has to be a middle ground where
Essential services, schools, free universities places ect are funded fully but not wasting money
And big business gets its profits
Is it worth and extra £3 ni £5 tax?
Im hoping the country /world will come out of this with a better attitude
But some how I see 2 weeks after freedom it'll be business as usual.

So I tried to show how I feel
I've been in isolation 5 yrs
Lock down for 6 weeks
Not seen my older kids for 2yrs and 4yrs
And my young ones for 6 weeks
Not spoken to anyone face to face for 3.5 weeks
And I'm struggling with swollen legs and the lungs to eat, clean
I'm probably depressed as I'm not completing tasks
Like have a wash, wash pots, eat something
I've not showered for 4 wks this Fri as I cancelled the care staff
Can't change my cloths

I'm fed up
I'm angry
I'm annoyed with people going to the beach in groups
I'm angry at selfish Im all right people
Basically I'm just fcuking angry 🤷‍♂️

No worries Dublin I understand it’s a very difficult time for you - I absolutely get it. I can also understand more than most the need to vent your frustrations on here, I just felt criticism of the PM at this time wasn’t right and was more annoyed at merseys post if I’m honest

Sorry for having a different viewpoint to you BS 👍

I understand how how you feel Dublin. It’s an awful situation for you and I have every sympathy with your plight.

As you say, let’s hope we can get through the worst of this in the next few weeks and we come out of it a kinder and more community oriented society.

I have the same fears as you, I understand your anger. Take care mate.

Any health care worker in any country that loses their life to the virus should receive their relevant countries highest accolade for bravery when this is over imo.

I sympathise totally with you Dubs, the current situation makes a lot of us angry, sometimes for different reasons, sometimes warranted and other times not.

Keep safe Dubs, lets hope it's a Footballer disappointing us we're talking about soon, after he helped us to a Champions league spot

There are so many cliches out there atm, it's absolutely fantastic that Government asked for 250,000 volunteers and 750,000 volunteered, it really shows there is still a Community left in this Country despite the selfish, ignorant and idiotic traits we see every day.

What makes me angry though is that it takes a Pandemic like this for people to show it, everyone for years has moaned groaned and blamed everyone else instead of getting off their Rs to help in very difficult times.

You know what as well, I 100% think we'll all be back to normal in no time at all after this is all over, that makes me angry to know.

It’s not that at all and you know it. You’re entitled to a different opinion. I just happen to think what you chose to put, given the serious condition of the PM right now, was pretty crass and insensitive to be honest and there was absolutely no need, as highlighted by other posters, to make a party political broadcast on behalf of Labour.

posted on 7/4/20

I understand that viewpoint entirely BS even if I don’t agree with it. I know the majority of people will be with you on this one and that’s fine. Just not me - I’ll take the hate for that.

Let me be clear, as in my original post, I wish no ill on any human and I wish Johnson a speedy recovery. As much as I don’t respect the man, stable leadership is absolutely what this country needs right now and his well-being is critical to that.

'ey up Dubs. Glad to see you're still carrying on carrying on. Sorry to hear that you're struggling to source stuff but hopefully that'll improve as everyone gets into the swing of all the changes that have happened.

I doubt we're likely to agree politically, so feel free to have a rant at me instead. After all, I voted for him.

As a good friend of mine once said:

“Goooood, goooood...
Let the hate flow through you...”

I’m pretty sure he made a donation to the Tories at some point too.
