Lemon Twigs - Do Hollywood, Go to School.

Newish bad, probably bit love hate as some of their songs are a bit odd. But definitely worth a go, especially if you like 60/70s style rock/pop sound. The members were only 17 and 19 on first album, only early 20s now, very talented musicians

Some good shouts on here, you guys have some taste it seems:

The Prodigy - Fat of the Land
Great to listen to in the car because it makes you want to drive too fast and its fun watching your mirrors vibrate in time to the bass.

Placebo - Without You Im Nothing
Beautiful hard edged melancholic camp fury! Ok its about drug dependency which is something I abhor but it does lead to some fine creative music and this is no exception

R.E.M. Life's Rich Pageant
Begin the Begin, These Days, Fall on Me, Cuyahoga, What a way to start a record, those 4 just leave you reeling. The rest isnt bad either.

Gary Numan - Living Ornaments '80
I'm a massive Numan fan and this collection captures his early work wrapped in gorgeous analogue electronics but with a raw live edge to it. The version of Down in The Park on here is absolutely stunning.

By The Way - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Its a toss up between this and Californication, but this is just a joyous collection of great tracks and for me the best of the Frusciante albums.

this is much better than Californication imo, certainly on a par with Bloddsugarsexmagic as their best.

It's the perfect pop record. Grew up on that stuff as a teen and it's one of my all time favs

I saw your list up there and actually remembered you were not very keen on Trouble Will Find Me. I doubt you were into the latest but I'm curious what you think about Sleep Well Beast.

It will always be F#A# for me. You can never beat Providence. Skinny Fists is amazing too though and I always think Slow Riot is really underrated. The perfect gateway into the band.

I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but here's my 5:

1. Paul Simon - The Rhythm of the Saints
Maybe not as well known as Graceland, but just as magical. The drums in 'The Obvious Child' are incredible - what a way to start an album.

2. FM-84 - Atlas
From 2016, but sounds like it's from the 80s. 'Running in the Night' is one of the best songs in the synthwave genre, and just a genuinely brilliant pop song by any standards.

3. Europaweite Aussichten - Night Sequences
Dark, moody, intense film soundtrack vibes with some softer, more melodic moments.

4. The B-52's - Cosmic Thing
If songs like Love Shack, Roam and Topaz don't lift your mood, it's unlikely that anything will.

5. Sacred Tapestry - Shader Complete
If you know anything about Vaporwave, you almost certainly know Sacred Tapestry, as it's the artist also known as Vektroid/Macintosh Plus. This is quite dark stuff compared to, say, Floral Shoppe, but it's an absolutely compelling listen.

Well remembered!

There's some great songs on TWFM - some of my all time favourites by them. I Should Live In Salt... Pink Rabbits... Sea Of Love...

But for a long time I had a real problem with This Is The Last Time and Graceless, and it kinda blew the record for me. Actually in recent times I've come to quite like Graceless, so it's not a problem at all now, as it's a lot easier to deal with now that it's not two songs following each other.

Sleep Well Beast was a disappointment though. Again there are some great songs on it, but overall it doesn't work for me as an album. Maybe it'll make sense one day, and I'm totally open to that still happening, but even when I saw them play live on that tour, I ended up coming away disappointed - I've seen them 4-5 times now, and it was the only time I've not enjoyed it.

In fairness to the show, I had just seen Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds a few nights earlier, and they were so so good. I'd seen them a couple of times previously and really enjoyed seeing them. But the Skeleton Tree shows... they took it up so many levels. Easily in my top 5 favourite concerts of all time
