Three more weeks

6 weeks to get back up to speed? I don’t think they’ll give them that if they can give them say 2 and we all go with where we are.

I don’t think we get 6 weeks between the Scottish cup final and the European qualifiers. If so, only just and they’ll do it to avoid the tv companies trying to claw back money.

In so saying I think June 10th might be a questionable as effectively social distancing will have to have gone by then no?

https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/coronavirus-joint-response-group-update-9-april/?rid=13929

‘ Mr FitzPatrick stated that these restrictions were unlikely to be lifted for at least 13 weeks and that NHS Scotland had been placed on an emergency footing until at least 10 June 2020. Mr FitzPatrick indicated that no group training would be permitted before the legal restrictions are lifted and noted the medical advice that competitive matches could not take place for about six weeks after training and conditioning recommences.

This was consistent with the advice of the Scottish FA’s Medical Consultant, as well as UEFA’s confirmation on a recent videoconference that its fixture calendar working group was now looking at dates beyond June 2020 for the resumption of its competitions across Europe.’

No training allowed until 10th June, and advice is that 6 weeks are needed for training and conditioning of the players before they can play a competitive game.

That’s you up to the end of July pretty much, assuming that these dates stand up. Think that’s them basically saying this season is done, and all that’s missing is the crowning of the champions.

Wonder what will happen with the European football

Imagine you had just recorded your best ever result in Europe and all set up to go into the last 16

You'd be fuming with this

Think the post above covers that. I think a lot of leagues will just declare as is just now, and cup competitions will kick the new seasons off. UEFA will have first dibs on finishing competitions, then domestic seasons.

With minimal training will the standard of Scottish football take an even lower dive.

Players are much more fit now than they were years ago. I honestly don't think a full pre-season is required.

Just my opinion.

Wouldn’t have thought so if they could get the games in sensibly after a couple of weeks training. We’ll see

I doubt the PFA will let them go against medical advice.

I see Budge has, well, budged from her initial position as well. Seems to have basically said if the vote is carried and they’re relegated, then there’s not much she can do about it.

No idea Ath. It’s either that or her lawyers have told her she doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

You’d like to think leagues will have checked their legal position first before coming up with the proposal.

And if they have and Hearts have done likewise it would make Rangers position more of a token blistering for their supporters.

Ginger-might be the case that with the clubs voting on it, then that takes away the threat of legal action. Who do they take to court-every club that voted for the proposition?

There also seems to be some confidence that it won’t get passed in any case as there will be enough dissent in the championship.

Yeah read that. My own thoughts are that it will get voted through. Take away the second top and the bottom from each league and you have 8 teams from 42 to vote against which is less than the 25% and that’s before the carrot of restructure.

We’ll see

At the top level players will most likely have some sort of training area at home and even lower league players probably regularly attend the gym
There’s not any Joe Harper’s out there anymore
I’d favour finishing this season and truncating next we can play each other twice or three times and fook the greetin fooks who moan about twice away once at home put the parameters in and go with what the computer says
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you'd be surprised, Zach? Itinerant profession that rent because there's no point putting roots down. Young boys that want to stay in the action in expensive modern flats or young families that need rooms for kids not gyms. They have a gym they can go to daily in normal circumstances.
