Good morning harle, yeah apart from being an expensive risk, I think we have more than enough cover for that position, so I also see him as a blocker for players like Mount and Cheeky when he returns to full fitness.
That sort of money is much better spent on other areas of the pitch as far as I'm concerned.
Coutinho won`t play any more games for Barcelona, they will not want to risk him triggering any of the add ons for his fee to Liverpool, that`s why he has been loaned out. Barcelona stand to save around £50m in add ons.

He fits in where Mason Mount plays. Hes about six levels up from him. Chelsea fans love the current romanticism of their home grown players but you put Coutinho in a midfield 3 with Kante after Kovacic then he'll do amazingly.

Mount doesn't usually play in a 3 man midfield, always as a N0 10 or wide left occasionally.
Conversely that's where I always associate Coutinho playing rather than centrally in a three man midfield.
You are correct though about the romantic connection the fans have with the young players, myself included.
I grew up with the likes of Alan Hudson, Ossie, Chopper, The Cat, Peter Houseman coming through and later Ray Wilkins, Clive Walker, Tommy Langley, Garry Locke, Garry Stanley etc. I loved them because of their Chelsea connection and it's been many a long year since I've felt that connection again, hence many of us feel that attachment with this crop of kids.
I hope we see this project through even if it's at the cost of silverware in the short term.
I've seen us win the CL and also the League title 5 times more than I ever expected to, so whatever happens in the near future I'll go to my grave a happy man!

I think what LeBeouf is saying is that Coutinho is a good player - but we will have to pay world class player rates for him. So it’s not just about how good he is - but who we COULD have purchased instead of Coutinho - the opportunity cost. If we pay that much money, we should aim for a truly world class player.

How would you know? We haven’t seen him play consistently in 2 years.
Also we haven’t had a problem tearing teams apart this year just been agonsingly wasteful in front of goal. Kovacic isn’t too far from what countinho added in his prime bar goals. We are fine with what we have and isn’t worth upsetting the apple cart imo. You may be right he’d be our best attacker, but with cho, Mount and pulisic the future is bright.
