I don't think furlough has been reversed for the staff on the scheme, the club are just guaranteeing 100% wages for all full time, casual and furlough staff, except the board.

Couldn't give a monkeys tbh. It was all blown out of proportion anyway. So we were going to get a couple of mill from the govt. Who cares? Rather it goes to us than spent on a missiles or nuclear weapons. But if a little bit of pride of our fans is restored then all good in the hood.

WELL DONE DANIEL! And I look forward to seeing how the stadium will be used to help in this pandemic. Stay safe everyone.

Well done Daniel.

Ok maybe I was reluctant to give credit, I think the decision has been reversed now fully reading reports.

Staff are STILL being furloughed. The club are only ‘topping up’ the remaining 20%.

The taxpayer will still be paying upto £2500 per month per employee furloughed.

Bbc says the club are not using the Furlough scheme:

‘Tottenham have reversed their decision to use the government's furlough scheme for some non-playing staff during the coronavirus crisis following criticism from supporters.’

So I assume that staff being paid full salaries who were previously on the scheme are now being paid entirely at the club’s expense

The club’s statement reads

“We have decided that all non-playing staff, whether full-time, casual or furloughed, will receive 100 per cent of their pay for April and May. Only the board will take salary reductions.”

Staff are still furloughed. Tottenham can still pay their staff 100% of their wage.

You’d be naive to think Levy won’t claw back 80% from the government for staff declared furloughed. The cynic in me sees this as a PR stunt with some simple word manipulation

A better statement would be to declare non playing staff as no longer furloughed and still receiving 100% pay.

Semantics

I think the club statement is pretty clear and I don’t think Levy would prioritise sentimentality above business. I also don’t think the apparent ambiguity of the statement you quote was deliberate either.

Gary Neville is a first class Mug, only Carragher rivals him on that front, Neviile thinks his beloved Pen United have a chance to sign Harry Kane, that tells you all there is to know about his levels of delusion.
