Come on lad, your first post in 5 years....keep it going.

You like a bit of the dessert stoner driving riffs?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey dude. I dig the stoner rock genre. Bands like Kyuss, Hermano, Vista Chino, Mr Plow, Earthless, Freedom Hawk, Cowboys & Aliens, Orange Goblin, Sixty Watt Shamen, Solarized, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Lowrider, Red Stoner Sun, QOTSA and the Desert Sessions. Too many to mention really. Rock/Metal music was the genre that first got my attention and love as a teenager. Kyuss and John Garcia were my induction into it. I discovered a lot of music through small independent blogs that floated around on the Internet back in the day. What stuff are you into? Do you get to many gigs?

I've not been posting as I've forgotten my password and using a temp one all the time is a pain. It won't let you change your password unless you know your current one. I used to use the old BBC 606 before it was ended and replaced by this.

Yes! That’s right up my alley.

Big stoner fan. All you’ve mentioned and more. Alabama Thunderpussey, Acid King, Atomic Bitchwax, Nebula, Fu Manchu, Acrimony, Monster Magnet, Fireball Ministry,Truckfighters.....I could go on and on.

Stoner, thrash, doom, blackened metal, that’s what I’m doing right now

I have albums from all of those bands. Some of them I haven't listened to in a long while. Solace are one of my favourite's though and I hadn't realised until a week ago that they reunited and released an album at the end of the last year. I really need to start getting to a few more gigs once this all blows over. The last one I went to was watching Down play at the Roundhouse. Good times.

Same here, haven’t really listened to the new Solace. Saw them live about 10 years ago. Great gig. SawDown about 5 years ago and that was magnificent.

Haven’t been to much stoner stuff in a while, but saw asleep and Melvins in the last year. Fu Manchu, Nebula and Monster Magnet have all been cancelled

After this thread I dug deep into my ‘metal club memories’ section in my brain. And I present you with... Fear Factory. Whatever happened to them?

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Belfast Limelight, Halloween 2001. Must’ve been there with about 25 mates. Place was packed. FF absolutely slayed the place. Demanufacture was a superb album
