VAR shenanigans, mid-season break, teams playing second strings in cup thus resting a full squad making a mockery of rules, and now season halted for 2 months at the every least, giving an unfair advantage to certain teams who were on the full swing of form loss etc...Yep, season is tainted and I can see being abandoned even if the premier league bullies them to play - because there is no way they'll avoid spreading the virus as there is no way to keep 2ms distance
The premier league pander to certain clubs, and money. They are now asking players to look away when tackling...FFS, total sell outs to money and greed!

The premier league have the money to pay that themselves or at least heavily subsidise it. Every club in the league can afford £10m and then the PL could pay the rest.
Every incomplete competition to this point has been tainted by what will amount to a 3 month break. My club looked like they couldn’t beat themselves before this, now we would have back - Kane, Son, Bergwijn and a rested fully fit Alli.
They should scrap the lot and start concentrating on when next season could potentially start as I doubt it will be August. Euro comps surely can’t happen next season given current quarantine measures.

I have already given you three examples of clubs for whom £17 million would represent 10% or more if their annual turnover. All 3 clubs reported losses last year. This £17 million also doesn't include lost revenue from matches not being played this year.
Loss of Overseas Broadcasting revenue seems to be the main driver here.
The biggest foreign customer is China, do you think they give a flying fek about the welfare of the players or indeed, anyone else in the UK?
All this guff about having to repay the money too.
Ryanair aren't giving out repayments, the PL should just follow suit.
"You can have the money when we have the money"
If they don't like it, televise the Bundesliga instead.
No matter what happens now this premier league season has already be rendered meaningless. No matter what happens now, if/when we go back it will not in anyway resemble the competition that we started. We keep hearing this sporting integrity line, but that is already finished. No relegation, points per game, finishing it has it stands, starting behind closed doors, more subs, less time per half, restarting months after it paused, player contracts etc... etc... all these result in sporting integrity being thrown out the window in some way or another, and result in a some teams ‘winning’ and some ‘losing’. While I don’t want null and void, in terms of the premier league, it is the only option that results in no side losing out (except financially) in terms of sporting integrity, as no side has, at the point of pausing, mathematically won the league, qualified for Europe, or been relegated. It’s far from ideal, but it is the only fair outcome that protects this sporting integrity that everyone seems to be so interested in. Also as Striketeam says, it is very unlikely that European competitions will happen next season anyway given travel restrictions so the notion that it can’t be void for that reason is also unlikely. There is only one reason why this season is being pushed to finished and that is financial.

Yeah but do the Chinese care if this season is finished? They like the rest of us just want decent football to watch. Bar Chinese Liverpool fans, none of them will care if it’s the last 9 games of this season or next season.
In terms of financials, they could simply front load next years TV rights, or reduce the amount accordingly so that clubs are not hit with the burden instantly. £17m over 5 years would be £3.6m a season - sell a player if you can’t afford that.
Liverpool fans would be secretely delighted the season was halted by the virus.
You could tell their players were already burnt out and were looking likely to kickstart their usual almighty collapse.
Lost 3-0 to Watford away, conceded early against Bournemouth and sent home by Atletico.
Things were looking gloomy before the virus saved their ar se.
So yes, the title is tainted.
