my uncle runs a boat tour thru the blue grotto at Capri in the summer n he says that most people just look at the cave thru their phone camera thingy, filming it and totally miss the beauty they wud see if they cud tare their eyes away from there phones.

I went there and all I remember is a woman holding on to a post thing on the boat and she had a full armpit of hair and I was confused

I guess that it’s from their own perspective. And many may not get the chance to attend these events again. So I do understand why some do it.

It’s not the same as the other examples. I can’t think of a rational reason why people do this. I find it bizarre.

But I wasn’t saying it was, only that it’s become many people’s natural instinct.

Anything at all of interest - get the phone out, record it.

The worst thing is people selfie filming their reactions to football goals. There's one where the TV camera goes to the crowd after a goal goes in and it shows a guy standing trying to get his phone camera to open, then goes mental into the camera a minute after the goal has gone in I wanted him to have dysentery in the neck after that

When I was at Auschwitz we were waiting at the main bit after security, outside the famous gate, waiting on our tour guy who was 2 minutes late. And an American woman in the group shouted "if the Naazis had been this inefficient they'd have only killed half the Jews"

They left halfway through the tour because there was too much waking involved.

Yeah this is the case at any legendary sight. Was in Varanasi watching the puja ceromony and it was comical to look around and see hundreds of folks just watching it through their phones. Fackin Varanasi for feck sake

Actually happened. You know when you remember something so clearly and it sticks with you? That was one of those moments. Americans learn best when they are ignored. Because then they know not to say it again because they won't get attention. No offence Forza.

One that’s started annoying me is one of my mates posting a series of socially distant pictures with her boyfriend (seperate households) during lockdown going on picnics and walks. Ok first time I was like fair enough but every 3-4 days she posts a new one up. No one cares ffs.

I am both disgusted and lowkey impressed that a couple make this effort to meet up in random places in the countryside and truly keep socially distant throughout each meeting. Like wtf, what’s the point
