Always going to be up and down in the same way it is across all of the world. When it gets up and above 1 and stays there for a couple of weeks we'll have to review. Let's also remember this includes hospital and care home cases, which it didn't for weeks whilst the R number was over 1.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Plus we are starting to identify regions where the spread of disease is worse than others which should hopefully allow us to pinpoint and control better without destroying the whole country and it’s economy.

There is estimated to be 8m of a waiting list for the NHS with a toll of countless avoidable deaths for other causes well on its way but yes, this is all about money.

ffs. As I said; quite possibly the most ridiculous thread yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really the R Rate is the reason why we are all in lockdown, and nearly 35,000 people have died of the virus in just two months.

Absolutely nothing ridiculous about the thread at all.

You can see one family member out with your household. You must maintain 2m whenever you are out. You can go to work provided you adhere to the same rules. That my friend is lockdown.

We will not move back into complete lockdown again. The R number is now being localised.

The toll to save the significant majority of vulnerable Coronavirus victims is now far too high a price to pay in other deaths and the ability of an NHS to cope.

The rules are clear and as long as people in general stick to them we will find a way through and work with it until hopefully we find a treatment. Over 90% of the population have done. That number will inevitably fall as time goes on. We cannot just keep hiding from this and it’s ridiculous to think we can.

"wont be long till were all back to where we started"

There's absolutely nothing to substantiate that claim, is there?

All of the trends are downward. All of them.

So you don’t know.

Here’s what I know FOR SURE.

You cannot social distance on public transport, especially the London Tube, and you cannot social distance in schools.

Of course I know ffs.

The same people who are monitoring it now.

Nobody is monitoring anything which is why the unions are (rightly) up in arms.

Simply saying something is safe does not make it so.

Nobody is monitoring deaths, infections, tests and NHS capacity?

Okay then.

No one said it's safe. But unless we all stay in lockdown for an indefinite period of time, then there's a balance of risk that requires monitoring.

So easy to say when it’s not you or your loved ones dying alone, drowning in their own fluids.

I just don’t understand this callousness.
