Not really I’m sure a lot of opposition fans will respect him and see how much he carried us for most seasons.
One unfortunate slip doesn’t mean anything, it was just in unfortunate circumstances in the time it happened.

That’s true but I feel if you ask most fans to name the first Gerrard moment that comes to mind it will be that one.

The slip.
Are we talking about a penalty miss when he slipped and there were cartoons of a molehill on the penalty spot etc.? Or was that Beckham?

Giving us a real Champions League trophy while every other club in England has to make do with a plastic one that I could buy for £10?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I was referring to a moment closer to the end of his career. We won’t mention it though.

He was a great player. Probably England's best midfielder for a number of years.
A top player, but not quite a top top player

I have to assume you've forgotten about Scholes and Lampard.
Did well to come back from all the shirt burning and Judas chants

Id agree, many won't.
Personally I like complete footballers and Gerrard was exactly that. For the same reason I always liked Rooney. Tbh I always felt Lampard should be dropped and play Gerrard with Rooney for England, they had a great understanding. I think it would have given us better balance. I wasnt a fan of Schole being moved wide to accommodate Lampard either.
Gerrard in numbers:
Liverpool
Appearances: 710
Goals: 186
Assists: 129
England:
Appearances: 110
Goals: 21
Great to watch too.

Yep, agree, I thought he was good to watch too. And Scholes was wasted out wide, he didn't have the pace.
The only player Sir Alex said was able to replace Roy Keane
I think I remember hearing Rio in a recent podcast say he’d have Gerrard over Scholes in his midfield
