The biggest complaint I hear against BLM is that it's mostly blacks killing blacks on the streets.

Also, these protests aren't going to change anything, just get more people killed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That complaint is a weak one and a cop out.

People getting killed anyway. If the cause of the protests were dealt with, the killing of Floyd wouldn't have happened to spark this.

Sadly, I don't think much will change. They'll allow the riots to happen so the protesters can be lumped in with them. Then they'll use violence against both alike.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How is the statement weak and a cop out when it’s a fact, it may not fit your narrative but it’s a fact.

Also what does burning, looting, destroying your own community achieve
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What the feck does black on black violence have to do with the POLICE force continuously killing black people?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it is called a deflection but must see through it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it’s called having a conversation.

Nothing. It's to do with BLM mentioned in the OP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Black lives matter started because of police brutality, talking about other crimes is just a way for you to excuse it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet this had been brought up by black Americans themselves.

Shut up u mug, I was responding to a comment posted.

This crime is awful and those involved should be done for murder.

But in regards to burning your own community I just don’t get it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, as per usual, you’re just showing your self up to be a vile piece schit. Black lives matter has to do with police brutality, talking about other crimes is just a nasty little way for horrible mind to rationalise murder.

Although I don't condone the violence and looting and there's definitely a lot of people who are taking advantage of this...I totally understand why it's happening.

As a race, black people are surpressed in America. I know we have plenty of race related issues here but it's astounding how institutionally racist that country is.

And it will only get worse with sc*m like Trump in charge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump sent out a tweet where it was claimed 80% of white people are killed by black. He is a lunatic but gets away with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is not true. The president himself posting conspiracy theories and stocking the flames.

Yeah trump is an idiot and does nothing to help the situation, in fact the opposite as stated above.

There has to be better way of expressing yourself and protesting though than burning your own communities

The police handling of the protests has been shambolic.

So many videos going round of innocent people either protesting or just walking past getting attacked by police.

There's even a journalist who was blinded from a rubber bullet.

It's like they just want to escalate things. Surely they should be trained to de-escalate. If one person in a crowd throws a plastic bottle at the police firing tear gas and rubber bullets at the whole crowd isn't the solution.

There's so many videos doing the rounds on social media of police brutality right now. I'd encourage everybody to follow ShaunKing on Instagram if you're interested.

I hope the public keep the protests as peaceful as possible otherwise there's justification for the retaliation.

I don't blame the American public, police are far too heavy handed in the states. A gun ban may be a start, taking that excuse away from police.

Everything killer mike said hit the nail on the head.
Burning down your own houses and looting increases tension. Doesn't change anything. Achieves nothing.

I respect what BLM is trying to achieve but just feel it's not the right solution, as I said on your last article.
Always swayed towards Martin Luther ideology than malcolm x.

Nearly 40% of black Americans felt X wasnt the answer, who preached segregation not integration, and I can't help but think even when these demonstrations have the best intentions, they are hijacked.

Them riots were people just burning 5hit and looting from their own shops for the hell of it. Legislation and accountability doesn't change cos u burn most your district. Was so sad watching it unfold.

Luther would have she'd a tear at the guys unjust death and shed more at the aftermath. X would've called for more violence.

Killer mike is the voice the people need to listen to. Always been so insightful and a real role model. Run the jewels make unreal music too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course. They would love it if everyone was like Luther. If all you'll do is cry every time another black man is assassinated, then you'll be crying very often for a loooooong time.

How many years are protests going to be peaceful only for them to murder another one after every few months?

Clearly they didn't get the message from the hundreds of peaceful protests that have gone before. Common sense dictates that as more are killed, temperatures start going up.

There is a limit to everything, even peaceful protests. How long can protests remain peaceful if there is no response? At some point you have to start asking the tough questions.

"But a man who doesn't have what is his, he can never think always in terms that are along peaceful lines."

They must enact recommended reforms in law enforcement. They are rejecting reforms and maintaining an establishment of systemic racism. Racist cops and prosecutors are protected to death so they can carry on putting innocent people in jail or six feet underground. It is clear that helpful reforms are being resisted in order to maintain the status quo.

my personal findings for years has led me to believe america was built on haves and have nots like most of the world but america in particular thanks to slavery. When chains of slavery were broken the haves were unhappy and wanted a way to keep the have nots in check. Deep "division" had to be sown in the masses and who better to be the poster boy for the reason for your situation than someone who does not look like you.

Enter the dehumanistion of the black race project. Solving 2 problems at once. Keeping freed black race in check and providing an excuse or a distraction to the have nots for why they have not. I am sure many know the history of the police force in america without me telling

The big problem here is the cycle and breaking it.

Every time the black communities get support from the white american and they got massive support over this, they then go and ruin it by violent protests and looting.

I told my Mrs this was going to happen four days ago. Same thing happened in Baltimore a few years back.

People will lose focus of the incident in question and just remember the rioting and looting. I can vaguely remember what the Baltimore one was over.

How is even peaceful protests helping them in the states apart from spreading covid in their communities? The only reason why their situation is now even worse than it was under Obama is because they didn't come out to support Clinton.

It is true their will be people wanting us to focus on the violence and looting without understanding the bigger picture. If you are easily distracted by

one of the most powerful statements I heard was a black man stopping a bunch of white boy from looting and egging others on. I will find it and post it but to paraphase he told them to stop and black people do not want looting etc
***because when it is all said and done whatever the outcome black people will still wake up black and they have to live in this community. While the white or other people can be like I am done with this when it stops being fun or convenient***

posted on 31/5/20

I would say that the two people who most changed things were
Rosa Parks who quietly rode on a bus,
And Martin Luther King who preached change through non violence.
I am speaking as a white man so have never suffered any bias.
But it seems to me that a response like the current one invites whites to arm themselves against coming violence.
I think the best way forward is to gather every instance of police brutality and put it all over social media, pay if necessary to get it in the papers with a message like Paid to protect us
And be relentless about it.

Tbf, a lot of the videos I’ve seen it’s not just black people who are protesting, or smashing up the city. It seems people generally, regardless of race or ethnicity, are p*ssed off at the moment.

They’ll no doubt be underlying issues which have bubbled to the surface over a number of years and boiled over.

There’s definitely a white supremacy problem in the US, and wealth inequality which affects healthcare, education, job prospects and housing.

People are fed up, you hear people talk about things going “back to normal” after the worst of Coronavirus is over but “normal” wasn’t great for a lot people.

posted on 31/5/20

Unfortunately good people are taking the wrong message from this because to a great extent the entire protest has been hijacked by the political machine desperate to win re-election. Those protestors are being played by Trump like a violin. No one is talking about Covid and the carnage that disease is still causing. So much easier to cover riots by the media. Its something they know and comfortable with.

Easily distracted why so arrogant.

Both matters need addressing.

The police brutality against blacks, and the need to destroy their own communities when this happens in some cases

Why some people find the second point offensive I just don’t get when they are quite clearly linked.
