Liverpool were never in control of the tie vs atletico for any decent period of time.

Well, except for 97 minutes of the second leg

I think atletico are a better team than Liverpool and I think Juventus and inter together are better teams than Liverpool and city this season overall.

They were in control for 97 minutes? No they weren’t, if they were the tie never would have gone to extra time

Your logic that beating a side over 2 legs makes them a better team is so dumb.

Unless you believe Spurs were a better side than Man City last season? Ajax better than Real Madrid and Juventus? Man United better than PSG?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs reached the CL final, that alone makes them better than City. Unless you think the CL is a tin pot competition, and not worth winning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What bizarre logic.

I wonder how good English football would be if other Countries paid Premiership wages!..

Most players in the Premiership wouldn't be there if they did!..

i like liverpool but i love leeds. you should pick a team and back them instead of being a fan girl for a washed up manager. pretty pathetic really. you abandoned chelsea and mocked their best player when jose went to utd.

Youve said we are a couple of players light of matching bayern. Youve then pointed to our midfield as where we would lack against them. That very same midfield went to bayern last season and ran the show during a very comfortable win.

You say i rate liverpool too highly. I say you rate the others too highly. Liverpool won the champions league whilst getting the 3rd highest points total in premier league history last year and are about to wrap up the title this year with what could be potentially a record points total. We have also played in a champions league final the year prior to last.

Bayern as ive said look the most likely to come through as europes top team but they have more to prove. Lets see them against one of europes big hitters 1st. They came up against us last year and were shown up.

I do not underestimate atletico. If you scroll through my articles youll see i wrote 1 about them prior to our tie highlighting how highly i rated them. However having played them, and battered them i wasnt impressed. They won and fair play to them as i said earlier, But for an outstanding goalkeeping display at their end, and a shoddy one at ours.

Which "non Liverpool fan" loves Liverpool more. Robb or Montliverpool?

Yeah, LAST season. This season they're a much better team.

However having played them, and battered them i wasnt impressed.
------------------------------
? You battered them and scored 2 goals in two games plus extra time? Doesn't seem to add up.

and a shoddy one at ours.
-----------------------
Your keeper made one mistake and the goal still could have been prevented even after he made that mistake. Also, what about the other three goals Atletico scored?

12 months is a really long time in football, especially where the CL is concerned. As Bayern and Liverpool have shown. One will get past the last 16, the other won’t.

No point here mate. Im up for a debate. If you arent able to acknowledge that a team can be battered in a game despite winning then thats your prerogative pal, im too old for this pash.

Again, as ive said at least twice now, ripping a pretty average chelsea team apart isnt going to convince me that bayern are the be all and end all. Time will tell, il happily come on here and admit i was wrong if they do the business against the heavy hitters.

Man city are for me far an away the strongest team left in the competition.

That’s fine, though it’s not like Liverpool were capable of it, but it doesn’t make Liverpool’s games last season with Bayern more relevant than their current form.

I’m not sure why you think City are by far and away the best team in it, though. They’ve been vulnerable all season, especially in the bigger games. Plenty of teams in it capable of knocking them out given their defence.

And your reasoning for dismissing Bayern seems to go missing when considering City and their poor record in the competition. They’ve not got the form or history to really make your claim stand up.

City are hardly better than Lester this season. You're overhyping them to pass on that hype to the Liverpool team thats 20 points ahead of them. Ignoring that a team can't be that great in the first place if they're 20 points behind in a 'title race'.

You keep picking and choosing things from last season and things from this season to suit the point you want to make ignoring that these are two different seasons.

posted on 1/6/20

This City team this season is closer in quality to the team that finished 3rd in Guardiola's first season than it is the the back to back title winning team. It may even be worse than that first season team.

I know what this is a setup for. Like I've said many times, you should not have won the CL last season. Juventus or PSG would have beaten you if you'd played them at any stage in the Knockout rounds. Also, your win against Barcelona was only due to a freak result at Anfield and a Barcelona team that had a nightmare night. You play that game 100 times and 99 times Barcelona play like you'd expect them to and finish the job at Anfield. What happened that game for them to lose 4-0 is not explainable and is just a mirace from a Liverpool point of view, there's no other way to explain it.
