They do indeed Ginger, and my role is to get them to spend on things they tend not to want to spend money on, not all but quite a few, I think many moons ago I sent you my CV so you know what I do, and its hard at times to get money from rich people so this guys motivation I am sceptic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you?

Are you sure it was me?

If so I wouldn't have just ignored it

I know he is not deid but at one point I was a bit fed up and thought he could help with a new job in Baku whilst telt that if he could help I still would not go to his Rangers club (I would btw drink anywhere me, even McGinn's at Central Station) but in the end the job I have is working well. Almost made the abroad move a few times but weans and wife are not keen tbh.

So a few thoughts;
- given the recent sponsorship of the SPFL, it would be a leap of gargantuan proportions to go from what we’ve had to a company like BG. I wouldn’t have thought their services are in much demand from the average punter, but if it was a way to market the game more widely then I’d be all for it.
- I don’t doubt that he would have the finances to be able to invest a significant amount. He isn’t a “wealth aff the radar” kind of guy. He’s a senior individual at BG living in Edinburgh.
- the devil will be in the detail of any caveats, as mentioned above it is no secret his support of Hearts.
- having him as a director of the SPFL (if that was part of the funding arrangement) would be a breath of fresh air in the dusty old boys club at Hampden. I can see him taking a dim view of some of the practices within the SPFL (such as the recent voting fiasco)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He may well take a dim view. Most of us do. However, it is the way the clubs want to work through fear of letting go control, self interest and nobody trusts anyone as we have seen.

They will not vote to change unless someone can present a compelling (read £ probably?) case for a different model. I don;t think that is what this guy will be about?

Latest on this is it's a one off payment of £4.5 million to be split evenly between all SPFL clubs, around £107K each.

It also states that he wants nothing in return and wants to see Scottish football survive.

Give the man a statue if that proves to be the case, incredibly generous offer that doesn't come around very often.

I suspect some clubs need the financial help more than others but then how to you grade who should get what?

It's a brilliant offer but £107k each won't help that much.

In the long run probably better spent on grass roots football or the lower leagues.

It'll be funny if it is a no strings help the game offer as we will no doubt knock it back

I'd say £107K would be a massive boost to every single club outwith Celtic and even we would take it with open arms

League 1 and 2 clubs would be well receiving of it.

I’d like to see us knock it back or redirect it to a better cause. Rangers ought to do the same.
