Klopp would change his system to accommodate Pogba
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's ironic, When he said he would leave Liverpool if he spent a world-record fee on a player, He did that with Alisson and Van Dijk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither were world record fees

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure they both were at the time they were bought?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were, Allison is still a world-record fee for a keeper.

I’m not comparing their ability or even positions on the pitch but Henderson is a bit like Carrick a decade ago - ludicrously criticised by rival fans but if you can’t see what they bring to a team then you probably don’t really see the game. Every Liverpool and england manager he’s had has valued him, Henderson will just never the fan favourite for the masses.

In terms of combined team, it would take a special player to break up out front 3 and I don’t think Utd have that special player atm. I know it’s only half a dozen games but personally I’d take Bruno in a heartbeat, not just for ability but he looks to have a real hunger and drive about him.

There’s an argument for Maguire over Gomez but Gomez is so quick and that pace is needed when the FBs push. I agree that McT would probably suit our style but would he get in ahead of Fabinho or Wij or Henderson? Doubt it. A midfield of Fabinho, Henderson and Bruno would work for us imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats the reason i wanted us to go for him, after seeing him in the friendly vs us it was clear to me, the thing that stood out was his desire to go with his ability he got stuck into the dirty work. Thats probably why he got so many goals in portugal not just ability alone but that hunger.

Ang on, also lets not forget until we signed VVD, 7 teams including Everton and Spurs had higher transfer record fees than Liverpool ffs so whats your point?

I think the fact that Bruno looks world class in uniteds midfield shows how good man u's current mf is.

Bruno was a flop when he went to a big league and looked far from impressive. He has hit the ground running but not sure he'd get in Liverpool team.

Maybe after a full season we can gauge how good he is.
Lighting up a dour mid table midfield isn't really a good way to measure someone's ability imo

Could see some man u players getting into the Liverpool squad but not starting 11. Different systems and just not a good fit.

Wow. This break has really brought forward the delusion of United fans. They've got such good players, it must be the manager's fault they're crap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Started reading through and here it is.

The crass generalisation that will no doubt be wheeled out in Liverpool threads after they've won the league.

You're better than that, TOOR.

Amazing how a Matth article yet again winds some of you up.

As for the subject, two points.

Firstly, Klopp has built a title and European winning team. Every player in that team does exactly what he wants them to do.

So no United player would get into it.

That doesn't mean that individually and technically we can't rate some of our players as better - that is a different discussion entirely.

Second point... Henderson is one of those players that Klopp absolutely wouldn't want to sell and rival clubs absolutely wouldn't want to buy.

Perfect for the team he's in right now.

Why not? If he was valued at 25-30m that would be a decent enough signing

What makes you think Liverpool would value him at that?

My point is that his value to Liverpool is way, way higher than his actual value to other clubs - in my opinion of course.

I still think (admittedly with a limited amount of evidence thus far) Bruno would play for us. The most attacking of the midfield 3 is the least certain for us - we’ve had Lallana, Ox, Keita in the position and for a variety of reasons (injury, not settling or just poor form) it’s not quite happened. When we’ve needed a goal we’ve even moved Firmino there.

I get what you’re saying about team fit but I’d say Bruno could really work for us. He looks a real player and, importantly for a Klopp team, works hard.

Let's be honest the sharticle is an abomination but my point is no one wanted Bruno, and after a handful of games people are saying he would get in the Liverpool team 😅

I disagree. Looking good next to man United mf isn't a fair marker imo. He flopped in a big league with Sampdoria so needs more time

I asked you what makes you think Liverpool would value Henderson at £25-30m.

Got any basis at all for that?

29 year old in unfashionable position. Transfermarkt value him at £25.2m, is that ok with you?

posted on 2/6/20

Melt (U22362)

Yeh that's fine, thanks.

That same web site values Fernandes at £43 million - less than United paid for him.

I think that tells us about how accurate their figures are.

You think Liverpool would sell Henderson if someone came in with £30 million this summer?

I don't.

I'd have Maguire ahead of Gomez, Pogba and Bruno ahead of Wijnaldum and Hendo and Rashford ahead of Firmino.

So combined team would be:

Alisson
Trent Maguire Van Dijk Robertson
Bruno Fabinho Pogba
Salah Rashford Mane
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually agree with Wahl...

Good lord.
