Maybe I'm being biased, is this is the way it was for me, but I think the 80s were perfect for being a kid and the 90s were perfect for being a teen.
The 80s had the toys and games, the cartoons, the films, and was arguably the best time for pop music, by which I mean genuinely good popular music which was accessible to everyone.
The 90s had Britpop, dance music that was both listenable and likeable, PlayStation, and a wonderful, dominant United
Speaking of being cool, the 90s was the decade where this actually was a thing. I don't see people trying to be cool these days, just goofy.

I think of 'cool' as a late 80s/early 90s thing. Maybe after that, the big corporations cottoned on to the value of cool and co-opted it, while consciously uncool alternative cultures came to the fore. Both of these things meant 'cool' became less... cool.

We are still in an ice age,the Earth has been a lot warmer and without humans it will still be heating up.Something Greta and her cronies never bother to mention
Wasn't there but the 1960's looked cool.
Whichever decade it is as when you were around mid to late teens and early twenties.

The biggest change in youth culture and music.

For all that, it must have been a pretty scary time as well.
I know we're living through some crazy times at the moment, but in the 60s you had the building of the Berlin Wall; the Cuban Missile Crisis and the constant threat of nuclear war; the Vietnam war; JFK, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr and Robert F Kennedy all assassinated; and major race riots across the US in 1967.

I don't think the UK had the same social tensions.
Mods, Swinging London, winning the World Cup, the birth of the mini-skirt, the 'White Heat of Technology'.

90s was the great Stephen Hendry era. Long live the king!
