What's worse than disgraceful and how would it happen do you think? Maybe bleeping out all mention of Chelsea or pixelating all the players and Lampard?

posted on 28/6/20

What was actually disrespectful was playing the match in the first place, needlessly risking the lives of thousands of people and not giving a s*** about the deaths of 43,000 in England alone

posted on 28/6/20

It will be a while until the Pool media wannkfest dies down yet, even though it`s an improper league title

How is it needlessly risking the lives of people. I would have thought that lots of testing and tracing that otherwise would not have happened was a good thing.

Surprised you don't.

We are just a bigger club than most. Don’t get upset about it

The BT coverage was disgusting.

I didnt even notice tbh, shocking that they did, too caught up in competing with sky no doubt. Was a good game too and important in Chelseas fight for top four.

posted on 28/6/20

Did BT have a whole program lined up ready incase it happened in 2016 though to steal viewers from sky?

Were all circumstances the same?

What was the bigger story, Chelsea taking a step towards top four or Liverpool winning the league?

Just ours, presumably
Or does it mean the Chelsea v City game?

His insecurity can be awfully confusing

What was the game on the "Premier League Tonight" Chelsea vs City or Pool vs whoever's?

There was no post match analysis. In 2016 when Chelsea played against Spurs and ended the title race. There was still an analysis of the match that had just taken place.

Bigger club gets more media coverage shocker.

posted on 28/6/20

Its disgraceful because they covered Liverpool becoming PL Champions but they didn't cover the game? Who cares. What is bigger Liverpool winning the league for the first time in 30 years or Chelsea beating City to strengthen their hold on the title race.

Not to mention that BT already will have pre-arranged to speak to the likes of Henderson and Klopp should the title have been won, which it was.

posted on 28/6/20

Also taking a step back, I'd say a team that narrowly avoided relegation the previous season to become champions of England for the first time in their history starting the season at 5000-1 is bigger than a team winning its 19th title.

The people who make a living from running a TV channel and broadcaster think differently.

Despite you avoiding the question, which was largely rhetorical.

- Liverpool winning the league for the first time in 30 years was the bigger story

- They’d just covered Chelsea v Man City for the previous 90 minutes

- Leicester winning the league was a great story but it wasn’t a near foregone conclusion with footage ready.

This article smacks of a Chelsea fan slightly bitter because the bigger story of the day got more coverage.

I’m sure there’s plenty of analysis on the game if you want to have a read of it.

Thanks for the congrats.

The media coverage in general is interesting compared to Leicester I have to say. Everything about Liverpool has felt more celebratory whereas with Leicester all the coverage felt more analytical, calmly explaining away how much of a miracle it was, etc... and considering the nature of both stories you'd expect that to be reversed, that would reflect the emotions of the neutral better.

What Liverpool have done over the past five years getting to that moment on Thursday deserves SO much analytical focus is unreal, the work of Michael Edwards & their state of the art analytics team deserves an entire special dedicated to it for a start before you even get into the impact of Klopp. Leicester was an out & out miracle, nothing in the works to prepare to it & it was a story every neutral fan could empathize with - so yeah, forget explaining away the details and drink in the moment with Leicester's fans & players.

You know before all this I hadn't believed the Liverpool media darlings hype, beyond having various ex-players as presenters/guests, etc... but I'm starting to see where people get that impression from now.

This title win for Liverpool was coming.. after the first two months of the season there seemed an inevitability about it.

I remember when United won the league after 26 years and a huge deal was made. Same with Leicester and that was a result of another Chelsea performance against Spurs.

All 3 examples are when teams win the league while sitting at home.

The team who becomes champions should always be the headline. What is the point calling people who represents the champions an hour later. You won't get hold of them because they are busy celebrating.

A match should always get analysis in the show it was broadcast on. Nothing to do with bitterness, it had as you say been a foregone conclusion for a while that you were going to win it.

A show could have been prepared for it straight after.
