risk assessed plan
Key words mate. I don't think anyone believes that decisions down south are being made based on that, which imo influences behaviour in Scotland towards support for more caution.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then you're wrong
It's all based on risk assessment
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think the general public believes that anything other than economics is driving policy at the moment
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s what risk assessment is.
I give up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to have thought a public health risk assessment would consider significantly more than just economics. In fact I would have thought economics would be a secondary consideration.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mate.
Risk assessment is simply avoiding an outcome depending upon what the cost is.
e.g. we use traffic lights and zebra crossings to go over a road. Despite that some people are killed every year because they either ignore them or don’t concentrate enough be they the pedestrian or the driver.
The easy answer is to construct underpasses everywhere there’s a road crossing.
Why don’t we do that?
Cost.
That’s exactly what risk assessment is.

Of anything, football fans should be using this crisis to their advantage.
Demand a better match day experience.. food delivered to seats etc rather than being herded into ridiculous queues for minging pies. For countries that use VAR.. play music and have fan cams etc whilst the decision is being screwed up by the officials (Assuming it's in England).
American sports tend to be a bit crap to watch, but they really know how to cater to their supporters. About time we did so here too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right
So when football is about to be plunged into its darkest financial days you think this is possible?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How difficult is it too play some music for a few seconds, or deliver food to seats instead of expecting fans to queue?
Doesn't require too many extra staff, and fans will likely buy more as they don't have to juggle it all the way back to their seat.

Just seems odd that America has absolutely no issues with it despite many of their arenas and stadia being smaller in size.
Football fans are offered a shocking service for the price we pay. Clubs could make so much more money on match days by actually catering to fans and making it easier to buy food, drink, and matchday souvenirs.
