You should have won today. Unlucky, and a rush of blood, but looked like you had so many chances. Can empathise with that.

Rev, maybe it’s done us a favour in a strange way. We aren’t ready for the Premiership yet, of our squad only a few would cut it in the Premiership, and after today’s last minute foul up I am not sure of Samba, yes I am raging at Worrall for inviting the pressure from a needless foul, but Samba simply isn’t capable of getting off the ground, maybe Worrall, Cash, Lolley and possibly Grabban, those apart I am struggling for more. We don’t want to do a Villa and bust the bank, it’s simply not worth it, give Sabri more time carry on building steadily and push on next season. FFP will have a massive impact on many clubs in the near future and we don’t want to go down that route again. We are still quite naive at times and need too learn, for instance the 3 we have conceded since the Re-start have all been in added time, shows a lack game management, given time we will eventually learn, but the Premiership is currently a step too far.

I here what you’re saying dave, although I don’t think the PL is all it’s cut out to be, there are obviously 6 or 7 teams that are miles ahead, but I believe we could easily mix it with the likes of at least 10 teams in the PL

Brighton, Bournemouth, Watford etc - I believe could beat and match the likes of them any day

They’ve shown that you can go up and stay there for a good few seasons - plus £100M in the bank every season wouldn’t do us any harm so long as we managed our finances properly

Personally, I’d rather we got there ASAP and gave it a go, you just never know

What I do know is staying in this league, sooner or later, will get the manager the sack and the owner may well lose interest - I say let’s get to the PL and pit ourselves against the big boys, if we come straight down, well we do so with a shed load of money in the bank

Vs Leeds - D / W
Vs WBA - L / D (should have won the second)
Vs Brentford - W / W
Vs Fulham - W / TBD
Vs Cardiff - L / W
Vs Derby - W / D (should have won the second)

...shows that we’re just as good as those top teams,

No team is ready to go up. I’d rather give it a go and fail, than waiting for the golden opportunity.

The strength of our team is the well organised defence and holding midfield. That is a platform in the premier league should we make it. We absolutely have to go for it this year as I can see are assets being cherry picked if we face another year in the championship

I would imagine Fulham and Brentford also have these mixed emotions of knowing we have strengths that could justify a auto place but have let ourselves down in one or two key areas. We need to finally learn from this and ensure it doesn’t happen again in the remaining games.

The teams who play well organised defence football do fine in the premier league as a general rule. I don’t think you would pull up any trees and I’ll be honest - I really hate that brand of football and actually think it’s bad for the PL, but it works. Trouble is we have enough of that kind of drab defensive stuff as it is - Burnley, Palace etc without adding any more

The top teams would rip you a new one because they can pass and move through it - but you’d be fine stuck in 15th or whatever. Trouble is the longer it goes on, the more you will get sick of playing that kind of football, make a change and that’s when the risk comes

The plan isn’t to play boring football - we don’t do that, it’s not in our DNA

We’d need to survive First and foremost, but Forest’s history is a well organised passing team, we are renowned for it, it’s in our blood - more so than most other clubs in the Country

You ask anyone who knows their football, name 6 teams who are renowned for playing football the right way, and I bet Forest will be in there

So don’t think for a minute if we were to hit the PL, we’d be a Stoke, Palace or Burnley 👍🏼

We're in a very good position to do well in the playoffs, as long as we avoid Derby & Cardiff before the final. Then who know's? that's the great thing about football, besides there will be a lot's of available football talent available for next season. Just a question of recruiting wisely.

Rev you don't have the players to pass it about in the Prem. They arn't good enough to play that way in the Championship which is why you play the non-football you do.
If you try and pass it about you'll just do a Norwich or a Villa or any of those teams and get relegated.
So unless you can all of a sudden afford to buy world class players then your going to have to do a Burnley.
Thats how you're set up now. Scaramouchi doesn't know how to coach proper football so if you want to play a sweeping expansive passing game then you'll have to ditch that boring tw@t for a start

Rameses....that’s why you get snore-season and £100M+ when young wet promoted...to purchase certain additions

I have no doubt, that if we make the playoffs and succeed in getting promoted - (all still very much not guaranteed), but if we do, we’ll acquire certain players to bolster the squad to try and ensure we manage to hold our own, and play chops football in the process - I should imagainebthatnis every teams ambition, hopes and aims when wanting to get promoted

Trust that helps 👍🏼

Such naivety Rev.
Everybody gets 100m but it’s only pennies in reality. And they’re all going for the same players. £30 mill buys you an average prem player. You might want to pay 50mill for someone decent but they don’t want to come to you. They want European football. So you’re left with an average team. So basically if you play proper football you end up near the bottom. Norwich, Villa, West Ham, Bournemouth etc you end up fighting it out in the bottom 6 all season. If you play non-football and you do it well then you can survive. It’s a shiite league but that’s the reality for a club like Forest.
Maybe the Greek can flog you to a Middle Eastern or Asian country but most of those already own a club.
It’s a trudge, a battle to stay up and pick up the crumbs while being cannon fodder when the big boys play you on Sky.

You’re the naive one

Going by your philosophy, no team should bother going up because they’re only going to play boring football and get relegated - so your alternative is not to get promoted but just stay in the 2nd tier of football because you’re in a league these is pretty much matched

I’m sure all the teams that have got promoted over the course of history are really angry and upset for getting promoted, and I’m sure they all wished they’d failed and just stayed in the League they were in

One last thing, what’s was your thinking when Derby were in the playoffs in recent season, I’m really sure you wanted them to fail and not go up

But I understand your hesitancy and worry about going up, especially when the last time did it, you got relegated with the worst point tally in history

Thankfully others teams like Forest have ambition to get more than 11 points - you just carry on living with the nightmare
