One of my favourite charities. I hope people keep donating their hard earned money to keep it going.
Glad I grew up with it always existing. I just can't understand American in particular arguments. I'd much rather rely on a health service than a for profit company.
We must make sure that they get paid what they're worth. Not just give a clap.

You're even more weird than me Cammy.
Ath remembers the day well as a young 25 year old
See running when you're pashed? You're almost falling forwards but your momentum is just enough to keep you going. Constantly on that edge of falling flat on your face
And if you slowed down or stopped to think about it, you likely would end up on your coupon.
Thanks to weird physics and the small god who look after drunks and ensures they get home even when they can't remember the journey, you manage.
That's the NHS. A big, wobbly, cherished, straining monolith filled with creaking pipes and funny smells and outdated forms and tears and laughter.
It's brilliant. A genuine source of national pride.
I owe it more than a few favours.

They should put this on its gravestone when the tories finally bury it.
Although Covid might have given it a stay of execution.
A typical 72yo. Huge funding, management, organisational issues but somehow it stumbles on periodically shambolic and people make allowances because they are grateful it is still alive.
Like an ageing monarch.
Still aloof and presiding over an ever changing population but in dire need of reconstructive surgery and “propping” up which is expected from its subjects who say they would all happily pay for but don’t want to and instead of want someone else to do it.
Don't knock the NHS lads.
Over here if you are relying on the public system for help the minimum symptoms are stigmata
Without private health insurance over here it really is a lottery
You must be glowing this morning, ginger? Wake up and find u-boat * has done an OP solely to get you approval. He must have sobbed himself to sleep.

What’s a shambles?
Just watched the first half of Burnley vs Sheffield Utd. Now that is what you call a shambles. Dire stuff 🤢
Yep, happy birthday to the NHS and well done to all the front line staff who work in it, many of whom I totally agree should be better paid.
Of course, that could easily be funded by getting rid of 75% (being generous) of “management”, who couldn’t run a fecking bath. Joe Public really has very little idea about the sheer scale of the “management” incompetence that riddles the NHS from top to bottom. It truly is staggering. All about lack of funding though ... eh, no it isn’t.

The pictures circulating from Cheshire news of rowdy Scottish drunks in pubs while the innocent English get the blame
The fwck we had a post-war Labour Govt. The creation of the NHS and the education act lifted millions out of poverty and ill-health. And the rapacious, slimy, greedy, selfish Tory Bs have been trying to turn the clock back ever since.
Happy Birthday the NHS.
That should have read 'Thank fwck we had a post-war Labour Govt'.
Gave me a wee chuckle, Tully.
